Let's run with the "well, I guess even more people could have died during the pandemic, who knows?" as a Trump campaign slogan. I'm sure it'll poll particularly well with seniors.
Still catchier than Biden-Harris-2020

That's great if you measure your "success" and how well you're doing in terms of dollars and cents. For many of us, though, there is more to life than mammon/money.
What has Trump taken from you? Don't give me coronavirus stuff. From his inauguration until March of this year, how has he personally negatively impacted your life? Because as with all presidents, I've learned that it has never once truly mattered who sits in the White House. My life goes on the same and it's up to me whether it gets better or worse.

I would have added "economic", but if Donald's to be believed there's also now the ever present threat of the incumbent's failures leading to their small town being overrun by black people or antifa, so I'm not sure how to categorize them.

Right - not having one's town be overrun by uppity negroes and antifa would certainly qualify as something that's in one's best interest, but it's also broader than that. A lot of our perception of ourselves isn't based on some raw quantification of our personal circumstance but rather is based on how we're doing relative to others. There's been research done showing that humans will often feel better being objectively poorer if it also means that the other guy is doing even worse. They/we feel worse when the margin between us and those beneath us shrinks or reverses, regardless of how well off we are in absolute terms. Trump doesn't have to make his fans' lives better for them to feel like his actions are serving their best interests; he merely has to make other people's lives worse.

His tax relief bill capped my state and local tax exemption at $10,000, eliminated my deduction for unreimbursed employee expenses (would've been nice for this year when I worked at home for 6 months), eliminated the personal exemption, and nearly doubled the threshold required to itemize deductions (which we still do, but only barely).

I have about $40k in defense stock that had been climbing rapidly, but his reluctance to engage in wars has caused it to stagnate. (I think that policy is correct FWIW even though it cost me money).

His inept handling of the pandemic has lengthened the lockdown period which has negatively impacted not just me, but everybody. I live in one of these stereotypical hip, gentrified/gentrifying urban neighborhoods and the extended lockdown has permanently shuttered several of the businesses that serve(d) as the core of this neighborhood. While the jury is still out on this issue, it's reasonable to assume that it will take the neighborhood (and the property values therein) years to recover.

I have no idea what anything you said in your reply has to do with anything I said in my post. I didn't make a post about Trump taking something from me or about how presidents dictate my life. I only commented on your assertion that your job and earnings were what you used to define success or how well you're doing.

Now, I could have asked what any of that has to do with Trump, but I didn't. Still, you just told us all anyway that it has absolutely nothing to do with Trump.

Ignoring the 215,000 dead and ~10 million newly unemployed under the incumbent's leadership, I see.

Must have been from all those "endless wars" Trump got us into.

And if the Dems were in power you might have had a lot more? Didn't they oppose Trump putting a stop on travel from many places? Didn't they call him names when he did so?
He actually didn't stop travel from China, ... just of Chinese nationals.

Thousands still streamed into the country from China ... after his select ban.

Also, travel came in from Europe, which had become the new hotbed.

But you asked what a Democratic administration might have done ... that Trump didn't do ...

* Not Eliminate the federal office of pandemic response
* Not delay to utilize the National Defense Production Act to augment supplies vital to deaing with the pandemic, from ventilators to face masks and hospital PPE.
* Not question the advice of scientists to recommend the use of face masks
* Not recommend the use of HCQ, despite the non-concurrence of medical authorities
* Not hosting events where the virus is likely to be transmitted

I know that I now make more money than I ever have before and I see more money on my checks due to Trump's tax cuts.
These tax cuts expire in 2025 for you, big time fat cats will continue to get them.

That was back when he was trying to keep Muslims out of the country. Islamaphobia plays great with his base. All the obias do, or are they isms? Probably both just to cover everyone who hates a particular group of people.

Back to the subject of the OP. You'll notice actually another gaffe by Biden with this. When he answered the question he repeated it back as 54% not 56. So what is it? That he's not very good at keeping in the know of current news? That he not very good at hearing the reporter? If you listen to the clip couldn't we say he was pretty clear? How do you get 56% to turn into 54?

I would guess because he may n fact be an imperfect human being, likely with a lot on his mind. The real problem is the guy who gives the wrong numbers because he meant to.

When Trump imposed higher tariffs on China, China returned the gesture. I used to sell China made products on my website. Since the rise in fees, shipping costs from China also went up and shipping times doubled because they had to check every product outbound to verify it's value to charge the correct fees. It was already taking 7-14 days to fill an order. Every buyer with an order wanted a refund by 3-4 weeks. I had to refund their money and I had already used some of it to fill the orders. I had to pay people out of my previous earnings and close my website before more orders came in that I couldn't fill. Express shipping would take more than my profits would be. Also I tried sourcing American and the cost was double to triple the retail price I was charging. The crazy thing is thay were still Chinese products, just locally warehoused!

Business closed. Website taken down. Biden can miss a couple words, he didn't kill my business like Trump did,

And don't delight in pointing out how many gaffes an individual makes. But this isn't just one time this dear man has done this ......just the other day he said he's running for the Senate. The Senate!

The real problem is the guy who gives the wrong numbers because he meant to.

What are you talking about, what guy? The reporter asked him and declared to Joe the number, very clearly and he reduced it by two.

True to a point. And everyone at those airports whose charge it was to obey the law and didn't should have been fired. The President gave the order but what else could he do if people who were probably politically wouldn't obey.

And while Trump was trying to get the ban in place, the Dems were actively working against any coronavirus restrictions at all. They kept urging people to go out, shop, gather, go about their business as usual.

Biden makes a gaffe every now and then.

But Trump is a gaffe machine - every other word out of his mouth is a gaffe. He is truly mentally incompetent to be president, which is why he'll lose in just a few weeks.
Look at these Trump GAFFES!!!

No, just an inept response to a global pandemic. Weird you didn't know about it - the thing's been all over the news for the past several months.

Are you talking about Governor Cuomo now? More than 33,000 deaths in New York (governed by a democrat) alone.

I was talking about the incumbent. When he reports the wrong information he does it in order to produce a false statement.

Biden made what's known as a "flub." I don't require perfection in my candidate's public speaking abilities. I do require that he not tell bald-faced lies to the camera.

Here's an example from October 12th:
“The World Health Organization just admitted that I was right. Lockdowns are killing countries all over the world. The cure cannot be worse than the problem itself.”

That's an example of a false statement or what some call a "lie." I would rather put up with a few flubs in every interview than a few falsehoods in every interview.

PolitiFact | Donald Trump

I apologize if I've gone too far off-topic by bringing Biden's opponent into the conversation. What I am trying to do it explain why I am not concerned with Biden's mistakes in public speaking in this election and I

They obeyed the law. Trump's ban only targeted foreign nationals, not US citizens returning from China, who were not even required to quarantine.
