For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved. For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. Galatians 5:7-12 - "You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth? That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you. “A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.” I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. The one who is throwing you into confusion, whoever that may be, will have to pay the penalty. Brothers and sisters, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished. As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!"

Was thinking about this passage today; especially the latter part of verse 11, and went awestruck at the relevance scripture has today in this world and age we're living in. Truly 2 Peter 1:3 playing out before my eyes. Danke, Lord.
Psalms 49:5-12
"Why should I fear when evil days come,
when wicked deceivers surround me—

those who trust in their wealth
and boast of their great riches?

No one can redeem the life of another
or give to God a ransom for them—
8
the ransom for a life is costly,
no payment is ever enough—

so that they should live on forever
and not see decay.

For all can see that the wise die,
that the foolish and the senseless also perish,
leaving their wealth to others.

Their tombs will remain their houses forever,
their dwellings for endless generations,
though they had[c] named lands after themselves.

People, despite their wealth, do not endure;
they are like the beasts that perish."
