Louisiana archbishop sets fire to the altar where a pries ecorded himself having a threesome | Daily Mail Online

When I saw this story I was reminded of the End Time prophecy.

Matthew 24:15
New Living Translation
“The day is coming when you will see what Daniel the prophet spoke about—the sacrilegious object that causes desecration standing in the Holy Place.” (Reader, pay attention!)
The lawyer for the dominatrices should check up on his definition of private property if he is trying to use that defense. All Catholic churches are property of the parish and their upkeep is provided through parish wide funds, as well as local donations. So I don't think his painting this as though it happened in the priest's bedroom is going to fly.

Would have been cheaper to disinfect the altar. Altars are not cheap. They act like they have money to burn.

The apostles condemned lust.

I agree, a good sprinkling of Holy Water as well.

Reading about the desecration of the Temple by Antiochus IV Epiphanes, a pagan king who conquered Israel in the 2nd century BC. The Jews didn't tear Temple down because of the desecration.

"After God enabled the Jewish people to defeat Antiochus, they purified the Temple and decided to enact a new celebration to remember the Temple’s restoration: The Feast of Dedication, as it is called in John 10:22, or Hanukkah, as it is called today."

I agree. The parish may foot the bill, but it is the House of God and not a brothel. And certainly not a place for those that practice Satanism.

According to Josephus the Roman Army broke through the city wall of Jerusalem in 70 AD. The Roman army killed many who resisted them. They enslaved the young and the strong and led them into captivity. They burned Jerusalem. The temple was on fire and the gold of the temple melted into cracks in the masonry. The Roman army tore apart the stones not leaving one stone upon another in their quest for gold. The daily temple sacrifice ceased.

In 313 Constantine legalized Christianity. Christians were no longer fed to lions in the coliseum. A later Byzantine Christian emperor banned animal sacrifice. Another Byzantine emperor banned gladiator fights to the death in the coliseum.

Interesting history. But I was thinking of the Desecration of the Temple, not the destruction of it and Jerusalem.

"In 168 BC, the Greek king Antiochus IV Epiphanes invaded Jerusalem and captured the city. He marched into the Jewish temple, erected a statue of the Greek god Zeus, and sacrificed a pig on the altar of incense"

Wow that's a bad translation...

Do Catholics really think their churches are the modern stand in for the temple of Jerusalem prior to Jesus and the New Covenant?

I guess it wouldn't surprise me, I just find it shocking...

An Abomination in the Temple

The new testament references to the abomination mentioned in Daniel were in reference to Rome's sacking of Jerusalem and the subsequent destruction of the Temple.

So it's not just interesting history, your equating Biblical prophetic events now fulfilled to some crazy goings on in one Catholic church.

I don't see how the two even compute.

Is it weird that I’m just happy that proper plural of ‘dominatrix’ was used in this article?
You know, until right just now, I never had need to know the plural of “dominatrix”; following “religion” is quite the education!
