I'm living with my mum atm and unfortunately she may have corona virus so I couldn't go to the park. I'll know if she has it tomorrow. Her symptoms aren't serious.

Oh no, sorry to hear that.
Hoping it's negative!

Christian theologians defined what is acceptable to believe about Christ, but what is acceptable to believe about Satan? Many of the common ideas about Satan, the devil, and demons come from apocryphal books.

Here is a book I found that offers powerful proof of who the sons of God in Genesis 6 were. The book is pretty amazing because it cross-references scripture with ancient historical accounts, archaeology, and science. The facts are overwhelming I highly recommend it! https://www.amazon.com/CODEX-FALLEN-ANGEL-OFFSPRING-DOCTRINE/dp/1704666007

perhaps fellow agnostic...lucifer has some legitimacy towards him? his eventualities are often not looked good...it is clear he has legitimacy in perhaps being better in eventualities with efforts from some sort of god being i suppose? i don't know his business now but it's clear he has more changing capabilities than god.

For anyone interested it was negative. Thankfully. She just had a cold of sorts. The test results were delayed which is funny because my mum actually works where the testing is done.

As miserable as colds can be, the alternative would be so much worse.
Wishing her a speedy recovery.

Haven't Christian theologians defined what is acceptable to believe about him too?

I'm not aware of a Satanology comparable to the Christology that was such a fuss in early Christianity. Maybe there is one though.

Why is Satan such a complete moron?

I mean, why would he think he had any possible chance of successfully rebelling against God when God's existence and characteristics were fully understood? I don't care how jealous someone is, no one is dumb enough to think they could beat an all-knowing, all-powerful god.

People do it everyday, and on the most whimsical of notions, even. So why should we be surprised at the antics of Satan, himself?

Who is trying to overthrow god, exactly and how?

Unless your "moron" can't believe that there will be a time when all Israel will be saved.

If he can get just one prophecy to fail, then God fails.

So he's been working hard to eliminate the Jews and/or keep them from seeing Jesus for who He really is.

And he has most of academia to help him.

Again, God is supposed to be all-powerful, all-knowing. Absolute 0.0% probability of success of stopping God.

... I don't support a theology which views Satan as attempting to overthrow God. Rather, I'd say that from a biblical standpoint, it seems more appropriate to assert that Satan is doing his damnedest to skewer as much of God's work among humanity as possible ......... before he has to face his untimely departure from existence.

Yes.. How tall is Satan? What color is his hair. Does he wear it long, short, crew cut? Does he have any tattoos? Is he like Jesus of middle-Eastern decent? Does he have any pet dogs or cats? Does he live in a cottage type of home or in a mansion? Does he have horns and black wings? Does Satan eat babies? Does he look like Dante's description as a winged creature with three faces, each chewing on poor sinners?

According to Job, "the satan" is one of the "sons of God".
According to Zechariah, "the satan" is a prosecutor against the nation of Judah.

The New Testament speaks more often of "the devil". Revelation has "the dragon".

Rabbinic Judaism sometimes considers "the satan" to be a part of God to maintain a strict monotheism.

It seems there is room for many different beliefs.

Some of this is language-specific. I think the western idea of Satan as some kind of chief bad guy doesn't work so well in Arabic, for instance, because we have both Satan and demons, but Satan is shaytan شيطان, while demons are shayatin شياطين, which is just the plural of shaytan. So satan is a demon (singular), and/or the demons are several 'satans' (collective/plural). It's the same word, just a difference in number.

Coptic has both Satan and demons as separate figures/lexical items, but that's just because both are borrowed from Greek, which itself already has satanas and daimon.

There is also Iblis ( Iblis - Wikipedia ) and Jinn ( Jinn - Wikipedia ) in Islam to make it more confusing.
