1 John 5:7-8

The KJV reads

"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one."

in most modern translations it leaves out who bears record in heaven, also earth. Young's is very close to what the KJV says.....

What does the Hebrew version of your bibles quote? many thanks.

God Bless.

do we look into the Aramaic? We can't look into the Hebrew because the NT wasn't written in Hebrew

There are a few Aramaic words in the Gospels: Mark 5:41, Mark 15:34.

They spoke Aramaic during Jesus’ time. The Dead Sea Scrolls are mainly Hebrew with some Aramaic. The Syriac Bible is supposed to be close to the Aramaic dialect. I am not a Semitic languages professor.
