Well they know if they walk off they aren't entitled to their pay and they don't do that for every game But when they play, which they do in most games, they get paid. What's wrong with that?

The guys in the NBA risk getting fired also. Why are you angry, because the NBA doesn't fire them? Is it any of your business how the NBA runs their business? Do you want to create laws that dictate to businesses that they must do this or that for every detail? Sounds like you want some kind of nanny government solution to what you see as a problem with a private business.

If you are treated like crap on the job and you're in the unions, a larger power will fight for you.

Also, those people are the BEST at what they do.

If you were the BEST nuclear physicist in the US, you could take a week or two off and people would still CLAMOUR over others to get your attention.

Being paid to do a particular job, even a "big dollar" job, does not negate ones right to free speech. Just because one is rich (or poor) doesn't mean you lose your right to voice your opinion.

Why? I teach inner city kids Earth Science and Chemistry. I would wager that there isn't a single NBA player that can do what I do nearly as well as I do it.

They can claim to be better at basketball, but so what? In the grand scheme of things so what?

What I am doing is creating an online program that levels the playing field for kids in the inner city with those anywhere in the US. Millions of kids could use this and it demonstrates the way in which you can level the playing field in all sciences and math. My program has been product tested for ten years and I am very close to outperforming all other schools in NYC including 4 or 5 that are ranked as the best high schools in the country.

I am more than happy to put the performance of kids using my program with his school.

You don't need money and fame to move mountains, just a little faith. You should read about Orville and Wilbur Wright.
