Could we be mixed with giants and angels? And when the scales fall will we see our true selves ?
The real problem with the giants of Noah's day...was that being half angel/half man?
Jesus being only as human flesh could not have died for their sins.
Therefore... They could not be given souls by God for that reason.
They could never be saved by the Cross.
For that reason they were not given souls , but spirits like angels have. Being given "spirits' made them continuously spiritually alive. They heard truth that they could have returned to God for. Just like Lucifer and his angels being always spiritual had a chance to return to God, but refused.
Those "spirits" from the flood were removed from the earth by God.
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to
bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the
Spirit. After being made alive, he went and made proclamation to the
imprisoned spirits— to those who were disobedient long ago when
God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built.
In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water." 1 Pet 3:18-20

God also had to deal with the disobedient angels impregnating human women during that days of Noah. They too are locked up below the earth!
For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell,
putting them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment; if he did not
spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people,
but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others." 2 Pet 2:4-5
And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling—these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day." Jude 1:4

So it be.... grace and peace.
