I listen to goth metal sometimes, although not really my thing. I like the more raw and less produced sound of black metal.

Although after listening to it so many years it does get somewhat boring. It's great music for a teenage boy, but after a while it gets a little much. Lol.

I didn't listen to black metal in my teens. It came later when we used to drop lyrics. It's a little sad when someone drives you to that point. *lol

I don't picture you listening to black metal lol, probably a mostly male audience. What do you mean by drop lyrics?

Does seem like you grew up during a more interesting musical time. I've said it before but innovation in music largely stopped around 1995.

My music thread on CF is based on something I did elsewhere. Two sites actually. We used to 'drop' lyrics and posts songs based on moods, themes, etc. The original was created on a site I used to frequent with friends. The second is on a defunct forum.

It was a great time. But admittedly, my interests are deeply influenced by the company I keep. Every man I've dated is on my playlist in some fashion. I didn't find all of that on my own.

But I did get Nox Arcana from a Christian. Go figure. *laughs

It's gonna be hard to drop lyrics with most black metal songs, lol.

Yeah, I wish I was able to experience new genres of music pop up out of nowhere. Back then people probably thought music would continue to evolve forever, little did they know decades later music would pretty much sound the same. I remember this young woman making fun of this older woman for growing up with "old rap" when in my mind "new rap" isn't original and often lower in quality.

Understandably so. But a lot of music posted here couldn't include the lyrics for similar reasons. I may not listen to it but that doesn't mean I've never heard it. ;)

We were fifty strong. That's a lot of music. It was the largest thread on the site. As for rap, I recall the first songs. It was a different vibe. The new stuff is a mixed bag. Paying someone to disrespect my sex is not an option. But that goes both ways.

It's okay to express your feelings and another matter to tell me I'm a piece crap. Once the singular becomes the whole I'm out. When you let that in your consciousness you'll pardon the same in another. Disrespect is my pet peeve. *lol

I do not listen to rap very much, but it can be a little harsh with women. Lol.

I don't like it, but black metal has a neo-Nazi problem. Although given I can't understand any of the lyrics, if it's good music I like it regardless of the artist. I paint my own unique interpretation with music anyways.

I do like Eazy-E.. but mainly because I take what he says to be a joke or something.. hope he was not actually being too serious..

It leads to dumb...dumb...dumb. *lol

There was a time when educated rappers was a genre of sorts. Public Enemy and Boogie Down Productions were popular as was WuTang Clan. They sang about consciousness.

Women set the standard. You control what's in your sphere and how you're received. When you're too inclusive diminishment follows. It cheapens you.

Artists sing about things that sell. There's a market for the topic and they feed it. Most media companies are owned by Jews and contracts are ironclad. They own you.

NWA was controversial. The police song didn't go over well. Gangsta rap was popular and many sang about things they never did. They glamorized the thug life. But that wasn't the case for a few. Even so, I couldn't be around it. The life they talk about is revolting.

Thank you Lord. First day at work and I ran into a former colleague from another job. Ended up driving him home. And later on we're going to get together and write and record some raps together.

Inspiration is about as reliable as a wink from a used car dealer.

Inspiration without action is meaningless. I've seen too many I'm gonna, I want to, etc. to take it serious. But I doubt that's true for most. They assign a higher value to desire than we do. They believe inspiration = I will. That's rarely the case. It isn't enough to keep you going. Start the engine? Maybe.

What are you thinking of doing?
For awhile now I've wanted to travel to new places, and give my testimony. I think it would be an incredible experience.

Note to self.... stop reading certain forums.

Calling an adult man a momma's boy is wrong.
Not holding women accountable for their part in relational problems is wrong.
Believing marital problems = abuse is wrong.

Exchanging feminist rhetoric for biblical principles is ungodly and utter nonsense.
