This is the same website that has now raised more than $500,000 for Kyle Rittenhouse. Now there's a new opportunity for Christians to help financially support people who kill people.

The Louisville police officer who fatally shot Breonna Taylor is currently raising money to fund his retirement.

Detective Myles Cosgrove was one of three Louisville officers who fired shots into Taylor's apartment last March after breaking in to serve a search warrant related to Taylor's ex-boyfriend.

Now, Cosgrove is seeking funds on the "Christian crowdfunding site" GiveSendGo so he can "purchase the remainder of his service time" and retire, according to the fundraiser's description. He wants to focus on his family's safety, which, per the description, has been threatened since protests erupted after Taylor's killing.

"Myles' reputation has been completely dismantled and the psychological trauma is something that he will have to cope with for the rest of his life," the fundraiser description reads.

Jarrod Beck, an attorney for Cosgrove, confirmed to CNN that the page was set up by members of Cosgrove's family but declined to comment further. CNN also reached out to GiveSendGo to comment on the campaign and is waiting to hear back.

The detective is currently seeking $75,000 and, as of Wednesday morning, has raised over $9,000.

GiveSendGo currently hosts fundraisers for two other accused gunmen: Kyle Rittenhouse, the 17-year-old charged with first-degree murder for allegedly shooting and killing two people in Kenosha, Wisconsin, during protests against the police shooting of Jacob Blake; and Rusten Sheskey, the Kenosha officer who shot Jacob Blake. The campaigns have raised over $500,000 and $30,000 respectively.

By "the rest of his life", do they mean the life that he gets to continue to lead until his natural death? Very much unlike Breonna Taylor, who he murdered?

Excuse me while I play the world's tiniest violin for him.

I don't see why this sort of thing is allowed (I don't know anything about this specific website, but I thought most crowd funding sites had regulations concerning things like killing), but I guess if people want to donate to a murderer as a means to stick it to the libs or whatever, they will. I suppose it's no different in that way than if someone were to set up a crowd funding page for any of the several people involved in killing police officers as part of the current unrest. Well, except for the fact that those would definitely be taken down.

So the police who entered an apartment with a lawfully issued warrant and were fired on by one of the occupants should just stand there and let said occupant continue to shoot at them?
The person who fired at the officers should be brought up on the charge of 1st degree murder. If a death occurs during the commission of a felony it is murder 1. Look it up.
Legal Dictionary - Law.com.
It is NOT murder if a police officer is fired upon and he/she returns fire but the bullet strikes a person other than the shooter. Manslaughter at most if even that. But you are free to post any anti-police rhetoric you choose to. Who cares about facts?

So how many do I need to take out before you would consider my retirement?
I think that depends on how many criminals are shooting at you trying to kill you.

Breonna Taylor is not Kenneth Walker, and she did not fire any shots at the police. The majority of neighbors (11 out of 12) said they heard no announcement by the police, even though it was a "knock and announce" order. The one who did say that they had heard the police identify themselves did not say so in the immediate aftermath of the shooting when interviewed by police, but changed their story two months later.

The person who fired at the officers should be brought up on the charge of 1st degree murder.

A grand jury already indicted Walker on charges of first degree assault and attempted murder of a police officer back in March. (Those charges were subsequently dropped.)

It's not anti-police rhetoric. If anything, it's anti 'reflexively agreeing with police concerning officer-involved shootings'.

I see you ignored some of my points.
I am aware that Breonna Taylor is not Kenneth Walker but sometimes when people shoot at the police and the police return fire unfortunately bullets sometimes hit other people. Once again that is NOT murder. manslaughter at most.
That a witness changes their testimony later is not unusual.
According to Stanford Law the warrant was no-knock.

As I said anti-police rhetoric.
Just so you know I am retired law enforcement.

Knowing @Nithavela I'm guessing none, same as in the case cited.
Nonsense. In the case cited someone fired a gun at the police. In such cases the police are justified in firing back.

Look at those goal posts move.
More nonsense! Evidently you do not know what the term "moving the goal posts" means.
"the case cited" which I have been discussing is the death of Breonna Taylor. In that case police officers with a properly issued no-knock search warrant entered the residence named in the warrant and they were fired upon by one of the occupants. At that time the officers returned fire and Breonna Taylor, who was named in the warrant, was struck and killed.

To say murder that would mean it was done on purpose. Do you have any supporting evidence for that?

I'm fully aware of what the term means. It means you moved from "criminals" shooting at you to just being fired upon.

It is kind of hard to claim it was an accidental shooting. I believe it is well established that all three officers fired multiple rounds intentionally.

It was tragic but wasn't murder. Had they not been shot at this could have been avoided. One good thing did come from it though and that's no more no knock warrants. I've never been a fan of just busting in a door. I know that wasn't what happened but at least those days are gone. (hopefully)

I agree, it was legal so it was not murder. However my point was that it being intentional or not was not the defining factor.

Hopefully that will help. The entire idea of using these type of tactics needs to be examined I think. It amps up the cost of any mistakes that are made on either side.
