Hi all,

Well, what I got out of it was just something I'd always believed about Little Donnie Trump. He's a man for whom the rules don't apply. Three times Mr. Wallace had to practically shout him down and remind him that he and his team had agreed to allow two minutes of uninterrupted answer time. Even with 3 reminders, Little Donnie Trump just couldn't help himself. He's a man with zero self control. A man for whom he honestly believes about himself that the rules that the rest of us work to follow just don't apply to him. A yuge sense of entitlement.

God bless,
Ted

I can never bring myself to watch these things. They never produce anything insightful, and the last time one of them actually produced anything entertaining was 'You Forgot Poland' back in 2004.
I wish I had not. But my curiosity had me. Sometimes my curiosity stinks

Trump was more effective and dominated the debate. Biden was not able to articulate adequate rebutals. Chris Wallace was more effective in asking pointed questions regarding Trump's taxes, whether election
results would be respected and Trump's attitudes concernig his whie supremacist supporters. It was a brawl and the analysis of television and radio commentors was critical of Trump. However I don't feel Biden handled the debate well and I believe Trump may have benefited. Trump did come across as a demagogue who is, able to fluently and aggressively persuade.

It was painful to watch and nothing was gained. Moderators of these things really need a way to mute the mics when they keep cutting in. Or, as a better suggestion, shock collars and the moderator has the remote.

I like the idea of sliming each participant when they interupt - like that old Nickelodeon show"

Skirting the law by poor mouthing your holdings to the tax man while inflating the same for the banker seems...shady, at best.
He did exactly what any sane businessmen would do.

Neither looked great, but Trump telling his white supremacist minions to stand back and stand by. And Trump's incoherent non-acceptance of abiding by election results.

Are DISQUALIFYING.

Hi all,

I honestly believe that for the next debate the moderator should have control of each candidate's mic. Interrupt once - get a warning. 2nd and subsequent offenses - turn off their mic until the other candidate is finished with his 2 minutes.

While I like the sliming idea, it will just waste time doing clean-up during pretty much every dialogue.

Just shut down a candidate's mic, whether it's Biden or Trump for interrupting during the 2 minute 'uninterrupted' response time. Something tells me that Little Donnie Trump would literally go ballistic and likely cross the stage to yell directly at his opposing candidate. Ripping his mic off to use to promote his poisonous agenda. I suppose that his supporters are proud of his lack of self control and inability to play by rules, even though previously agreed upon.

God bless,
Ted

The 3rd time, Biden should have simply said: "Since you can't stick to your campaign's commitment, the remaining two debates are off the table."

Well that was.... something. Not sure I'd call it a debate but something definitely happened on my screen involving both candidates and I guess we're calling that a debate now.

Trump was his usual, Trumpy self and Biden was well, Joe Biden.

Biden needs to realize this ain't like the old debates of his time in government. He needs to be a bit meaner to match Trump's viciousness to even stand a chance to expose Trump's lies he cloaks in that tough guy screen. At the same time, Trump is a national disgrace every time he's in front of a camera. Biden needs to not fall into Trump's traps and just let him make a fool of himself.

I know Trump is impossible to stop but Chris Wallace could have done a lot better to keep him in check though he did come through a few times.

All politicians tend to stretch the truth here and there during debates. I was trying to compare their truthful statements with their untruths. Biden seemed fairly balanced, but with some occasional vague statements that didn't make much sense. As for Trump, I detected zero truthful statements, which I think is an amazing achievement for a presidential debate.

I do believe that this presidential debate will go down in history as the perfect example of how not to do it.

No...there's no need to stoop to that level and Trump would win the mud battle.

( I was thinking Biden should have simply ignored Trump all together).

Yeah, I think the best thing we could do for the American democracy is shorten this process up to a couple of months instead of a year of this manure.
Yeah, seriously, America. It won’t be the end of the world if we just do this next. Whoever wins, we’ll all that much happier.

He “dominated the debate” by refusing to let the other person speak. As if the only way he could dominate was by sheer force. In a world where we settle most issues through intellect, conversation and negotiation, that’s pretty weak.
