Could be, but quite a lot of the actions taken in the recent past and even some going on now would have been unthinkable and shocking to all of us only a decade ago...but they got away with plenty of them.

Many were done just to stifle free speech or intimidate selected people, but this court nomination could be more important than that, so....

I wonder what your reaction would have been a decade ago to a president openly saying he refused to guarantee there would be a peaceful transfer of power if he lost the election. Or a president saying that his authority as president was 'total'. I wonder if past you would have been cheering that guy on.

Maybe but Dems need to consider how it's similar to the Law Of Diminishing Returns....meaning you put energy and effort into something and that's fine.....you cross the line of it being too much it then becomes counter productive.
Not the law of diminishing returns.

The law of diminishing returns states that in all productive processes, adding more of one factor of production, while holding all others constant ("ceteris paribus"), will at some point yield lower incremental per-unit returns

Do you really believe that they wouldn't come up with some other excuse no matter what Democrats did. And that their loyal fans wouldn't eat it up?

No, I don't, really. It's pretty much "I will do what I want to do first. Then find a way to blame the evil left later". If they look hard enough for an excuse, they will find one. Nothing we can do about that, except perhaps make sure their excuses remain only that: excuses.
