Read and pray everyday and everything will be OK.
This is a discipline that helps you spiritual formation immensely. Reading the Bible through will help you remember so many scriptures.

No reading and praying does not guarantee that everything will be O K.
Try reading Romans 8:28 all things work together for the good of those who are called by God.

Read it again.

All things work together for the good of those called...

Dr All things, the loss of your job, the dog being sick in your bed, your car being stolen while you're at work and you've also lost your wallet and have to walk home. All things work together for God.

Paul wrote I have learnt to be content in what ever situation I am in. Read his testimony, ship wrecked three time, beaten, robbed etc etc etc yet content.
Read Romans 8:28 again

Yes daily reading will help you learn about the Bible, I urge you to adopt read through the Bible in a year, as well as what ever Bible reading scheme you follow. For learning verses, write them out on cards, carry them and use them to practise the memory verse.
Just as kids do in Sunday school repeat, repeat, repeat and read it then again repeated while in the lift, on a train siting in a traffic jam repeat, check it and repeat, repeat, repeat.

Unqualified is not wrong. Practicing those disciplines can’t control outward circumstances but do cultivate peace despite our circumstances. I would argue while we can’t control our circumstances, we can positively influence our circumstances at times through prayer.

So control-no-that is outside our pay grade. Always will be. But we are definitely not helpless to our every circumstance. We have weaponry of both a defensive nature and an offensive nature —-much of which is honed through faith and spiritual disciplines and experience. Amen & Blessings.

Yes, we need to surrender to His purpose despite the circumstances and believe that God do things for our good, as we are His beloved children that are union with Christ Jesus.

God do allow circumstances that come our ways and it can be painful : sometimes we can find ourselves, we do not understand???

This is what we have heard:
I will keep your statutes; DO NOT UTTERLY FORSAKE me! -Psalms 119:8

I am a sojourner on the earth; HIDE NOT your commandments from me! -Psalms 119:19

I have done what is just and right; DO NOT LEAVE ME TO my oppressors. -Psalms 119:121

And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons? "My son, DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLY THE DISCIPLINE of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him. -Hebrews 12:5
