Just doesn't seem right, a young man and often and more often, young ladies are learning competency in this part of life. To see the success and confidence of a young person when they break a clay target is wonderful. And a great group of good citizens to be with. Our young people need good citizens for character development, and more so with the plethora of wrong character displayed in media.

IMO you should have to pass a test and acquire a license to use a gun, just like driving a car. No one should have a gun if they don't know how to use it properly.
No one should have a kitchen knife set unless they pass a test which certifies they know how to use them properly. Yeah?

What about lawn mowers? They can be pretty dangerous too.

Exactly. More government regulations equals more government control.

I've read that in the U.K. that one needs to present ID to buy a pizza cutter. How many Americans are cut to slivers with pizza cutters, every year, because of our lack of government regulation?

Freedom to willy nilly go out and buy pizza cutters on a whim, comes at a cost.

Excellent point....expect a huge epidemic of pizza cutter crimes

While we're at it, throw in keyboards. They're more powerful than the sword, we've been told. And indeed, Big Tech has already begun regulating them - according to its own parameters.

A LOT of Christians and churches are falling for the leftist anti gun propaganda, looks like maybe here as well when it is relegated to "ethics and morality" to participate in the safest sport and activity there is, and a way for families to gather and inculcate values that this world needs.

Since we have some activity, perhaps we can keep this rolling, I hold Rifle and Pistol instructor, Hunters Safety, Range Safety officer, ratings and enjoy the shooting sports, mostly 22 now, you can get a lot of repetitions for not much money.
Reloading is another interest, especially now that it is hard to find ammo.
Blackpowder pistols and rifles, Civil War History, it goes on and on.

I've never owned a gun, never needed one and don't care.
And I have plenty of independence and self confidence.

I like to travel but I don't tell people who don't travel that they don't have confidence. Or that they need to travel a lot like I do.

I don't believe that the point was that people who haven't achieved a certain level of skill in a particular area, haven't achieved it because, necessarily, they have no confidence.

Cars and guns are a bit more dangerous than kitchen knives. But people should know how to use those too. You wouldn't let young children play with them, would you?

My point is, the government has no business regulating anything like that.
