You're referring to post 52 where I was answering someone else about what a "peaceful protest" looks like.
Yes, but it was in post 36 where you turned the convo from the 3 states Trump is targeting to Wisconsin, using it as an example.

Thanks, and if it came down to actually getting shot, I'd defend myself as well. That sounds to me much more like what was meat by the comment.

George Floyd wasn't armed and wasn't even conscious for part of the time he was being kneeled on, so I don't see how the comment is relevant except to justify police abuse. But hey, violence has to be "recognized and put on notice," right?

Yes, something makes no sense there so, that is one reason why I think the poster must have meant something else.

And if course I expect the posters opposition here to be completely non understanding and use the post for all they think its worth so impossible to trust them

However, I personally still think someting is amiss.

If the person being taken into custody wants to resist, then it becomes necessary. That is even more true when peaceful protesters assault cops with bricks and fire bombs.
They weren’t resisting.

New York City is one of three places that "have permitted violence and destruction of property to persist and have refused to undertake reasonable measures to counteract criminal activities," leading to its designation as an "anarchist jurisdiction," the Justice Department said Monday.

Hey man, look at all those people on the live feed not socially distancing themselves and not wearing masks. Not to mention all the trash on the ground. Pure anarchy.

The truth that the local government in those three cities has allowed chaos and destruction instead of maintaining the proper order their citizens required to live productive and peaceful lives. order.

<Belk looks around his house, drives uptown, downtown, all around> Apparently I missed this chaos and destruction. I mean if you had said that about 6 blocks of capital hill three months ago there was chaos. Right now I seem to be missing it. It seems less "truth" and more "talking point".

What law or Constitutional proscription denies the Executive Branch of the Federal Government the ability to give their opinion of the job local law enforcement is doing.

It is almost as if you are deliberately mischaracterizing what is happening.

Did you have a problem with the Obama administration, not merely giving their opinion, but becoming directly involved in investigation of local law enforcement that it suspected was not properly handling their duties ? As in that case, When people's civil rights are being allowed to be violated by local government it is the duty of the Executive to take action to uphold federal civil rights law. Criticizing those three local jurisdictions for not safeguarding the civil rights of their citizens to be secure in their property and not be intimidarted by gangs of rioters is no where near as aggressive an approach as that of the Obama administration's direct involvement concerning one or two specific cases of law enforcement not seeing to it that a citizen was afforded his civil rights.

Oh! I had not realized this was part of a lawsuit about civil rights violations. Likely because there is nothing claiming a civil rights violation of which I am aware. Please point me to the claims of civil rights violations and the statutes that authorize the designation of "anarchist jurisdiction" that is to be at the discretion of the attorney general. I was under the impression this was all set up as an executive order issued by the president not something contained in the civil rights legislation passed by the legislative body.

Does that mean if Trump made a campaign visit to Manhattan, Escape From New York would become a documentary?

That would be where the constitution gives the Legislature the power to create laws. Now, would you care to answer my question? Where is the DOJ designated as the arbitrator of whom is doing enough to curb violence? I know no law has been written so where is this power spelled out in the constitution?

Really? You are asking if the Department of Justice has authority over the Justice system?

DOJ Mission Statement: To enforce the law and defend the interests of the United States according to the law; to ensure public safety against threats foreign and domestic; to provide federal leadership in preventing and controlling crime; to seek just punishment for those guilty of unlawful behavior; and to ensure fair and impartial administration of justice for all Americans.

No. I'm asking how the federal government assumes jurisdiction in local affairs.

Using Wisconsin as an example doesn't turn the conversation. The fact that people haven't been talking about Wisconsin since post 36 is a good indication of that. You're simply trying to win an argument you lost quite awhile ago.
