You're probably right.. but I'd like to do something to cheer Pete Best up. He looks so sour in his interviews.

Yeah. I liked their songs in the past. I simply didn't know they were Beatles songs.

Amazing how much they have influenced. Even hair styles two times. First with the mop cut, and the other letting the hair grow out. Can't imagine what the music and culture would be like now if they never existed.

Can you imagine Pete Best on the drums for songs like Rain or Hello, Goodbye? I can't. Ringo's drumming on Rain was just miraculous.

Yeah I've heard the comparisons. Still.. I can't imagine what he went though. The Beatles were on top of the world and he was like working for minimum wage at one time. Plus the Beatles would occasionally mock him during interviews. I mean they could have at least avoided doing that. Least he got a few million from his limited work with the Beatles eventually.

Well, a lot of their early influence came from Little Richard, Elivs and The Isley Brothers - so The Beatles 'architecture' goes back a VERY long way. But you're right, The Beatles took the term "world class" and converted it to "universal class". To do that takes something incredibly rare - perhaps even impossible without them.

We've not seen it from a band since, and we probably never will. Floyd, The Stones, Oasis, etc, were world class, but never universal class. It's like me trying to paint like Bob Ross. I might get closer to being good than I would have on my own, but never would I trump Bob. Influential, but never topped.

I think Pete can take solace in the fact that we know who he is and that he's taking a few royalties. I agree though, I couldn't imagine going from The Beatles to the DWP office. I actually experience physical pain just thinking about it. When the boys were getting into their Sgt. Pepper costumes, Pete was handing out sanctions to the unemployed.

Yeah, but I feel a man should be able to regulate their emotions. It's not ideal to lose your patience like that.

Yeah I can't think of anyone coming close to the Beatles. Although sadly it attracted the crazies. Fatal in John's case.

I heard at one point he was reduced to loading food off of trucks or something for a living. I've watched a few appearances of him where he claims he left the Beatles on his own. Not sure why he'd make such a lie. He probably becomes extremely triggered whenever a Beatles song plays. At this point though, the pain has hopefully largely faded away.

He would have never been a good fit. Not just musically but look wise either. He was simply too good looking to be a Beatle. He would have added unbalance with the fan girls that helped them spiral into fame.
