Don't be silly. You've got two other branches of Government that can keep a President's power in check. If Trump controlled the Congress you wouldn't have had impeachment go forth. And the Democrats wouldn't even let the issue in some aspects of that story go to the Supreme Court to potentially keep the President in check IF the the Court felt the need for it to be.

Our current president refuses to honor the constitutional checks and balances government system. We all knew that when he said his power is total and that he can shoot someone on Fifth Avenue. Donald Trump still thinks he is above the law despite being impeached last year because the Senate acquitted him. So it truly is a threat to our Constitution that must end on November 3.

I think for many reasons many are on both sides of the aisle.

Against abortion? Vote Trump 2020.

Abortion is still as legal as when he was sworn in. He failed as hard there as he did with his promise to repeal Obamacare. I'd think if one were really against abortion they'd want to support someone who could actually accomplish something "positive" about the issue.

Believe in the Constitution? Vote Trump 2020.

Court: Trump violates Constitution

Love America? Vote Trump 2020.

Trump sides with Russia against FBI at Helsinki summit

Hmm, not sure I see the connection you're trying to draw here.

Our current president refuses to honor the constitutional checks and balances government system.

So why do you say that? All sides have checks and balances not just the office of the President. The Supreme Court could have rendered discussions in say Trump's non willingness to have certain people testify. But it was Congress who refused to allow the Presidency every check he rightlyfully had in the impeachment process.

We all knew that when he said his power is total and that he can shoot someone on Fifth Avenue.

He never said any such thing that he power was total regardless of what he did.

So it truly is a threat to our Constitution that must end on November 3.

The only one who is a threat to the Constitution is when two branches of government side against the third and that third other doesn't yield to the decisions of the two. That's never happened with Trump so let's not pretend it has.

Many reasons for what?
Against abortion? Vote Trump 2020.

FYI Trump can't do anything to stop abortions. Conservative majorities have voted in favor of abortions in the past. The current SCOTUS bench is not an exception. Brett Kavanaugh said he will not vote to change the precedents set by Connecticut vs. Casey and Roe vs. Wade, among others. Every abortion law passed in the last three years has been blocked or overturned. So his position on abortion is totally irrelevant.

Believe in the Constitution? Vote Trump 2020.
Nothing could be further from the truth than saying Trump believes in the Constitution. If he did he would not have run for president. See what he was impeached for. See his comments about shooting somebody on Fifth Avenue and his power being total. See everything he said or did about punishing others for using their right to free speech or prevent them from doing so whenever it is about him being bad. Also, look at what he has been doing to prevent voters from voting by mail early enough to get their votes counted on November 3. Only people who are totally uneducated about the man could possibly think he cares one bit about the Constitutional limits on powers of the President. He only wanted the job to abuse it.
Love America? Vote Trump 2020.
If Trump loved America, he would not call troops who died in combat "suckers" and accuse everyone who disagreed with him of being a "never Trumper" including members of Congress and the executive branch. He would not tell everyone to disobey the nation's top infectious disease experts who use research to say, "Wear a mask and social distance." He would not intentionally appoint people who think climate change is a hoax to run agencies that exist to tackle the problem, which has been proven around the world to be an environmental crisis caused at least partially by humans.
Against rioters? Vote Trump 2020.
Everyone is against riots. Biden made that very clear. BLM protests start peacefully and become riots just because police want to violate their rights of free speech and assembly. What Biden wants to do is end all the racial injustice and police brutality - the problems that caused every riot to start. What will Trump do to fix those problems? Nothing. He is a white supremacist and loves the Confederacy flag.

If someone asked the government for money, it is the government's job to give him/her money or things, such as food stamps, that have monetary value. What would you do to make sure all people who can't do what they need to do ge4t the money the need to live on between jobs or while laid off from a job?
Look, you yourself said the government serves the people. This is different than many governments which have the people essentially serve them. How could the government in America get people to serve them? By supporting the people. It gets people to depend on the government. It causes the government to get more and more powerful. The more powerful the government gets the less rights you will have. Rights they have no authority to take away, because the government doesn't give you rights. They come from God. The more the government can get people to depend on them, and the more rights they can take away, and the more control they have, the closer they are to making the people slaves of the state. The more powerful the government becomes, the less it becomes a government of we the people. We support the government. The government does not support us.

Tuesday, November 3, 2020 is 45 days away. I am counting down the days because this one is by far the most important presidential election at least since 1932, if not 1860. Is anybody with me?
I honestly don't see why it is any more or less important than any other presidential election. Why do you think it is so important in contrast to other elections?

Donald Trump has been doing a lot to prevent voters from casting absentee ballots in time for them all to be counted on November 3. Defunding the USPS when he did was not a coincidence. He also his getting a lot of help from Russia, which everyone expected.

Joe Biden OTOH warned Democrats in his acceptance speech, "Democracy is on the ballot."
because Trump wants a fair election. Think about how easy it would be to rig those ballots either by tossing them or other people filling them out. There is also the issue of it getting to people ( sometimes mail goes to the wrong place.

So you want poor people to stay poor and have no home, health care, etc. and die at young ages since all the money they get is from the government. That is 100% un-Christian of you.

This is why some people support abortion. They know without government money, pregnant citizens have no other option before it is too late.
It is not the government's job to provide for people's every need. In fact, even things like social security and food stamps were not meant to be your only source of income and people who treat it as such should expect a lower quality of life.

that does not mean that they deserve the same quality of life than people who are paying for it. ( for the record I am disabled and even I understand that concept. For example, and this is really a topic for another thread, but I would be OK if instead of food stamps the government either gave actual food ( not money to get what you want OR even did it like WIC ( a such stricter program that limits what can be purchased on the government's dime. This is beyond the very broad "limit" of no-prepared food.

I cannot in good conscience vote for either of the two major candidates.

and you have that right, but I will say that I hate it when people choose not to vote at all and then complain about whomever others put in office.

Not even close. He wants to win no matter what it takes. That is why he is fine with diminishing the Post Office.

GA's 2018?
for governor that was something. For one thing democrats "found" a whole lot of ballots in a closet somewhere that were ALL for them like a lot not like five or ten. For another, they were VERY sore losers to this day nearly half way through Kemp's term I am still not sure if she has formally admitted losing.

I am saying that the democrats have been the sore losers party that I believe to have cheated as of late not Republicans not that it would be OK if Trump/republicans did engage in that behavior.

Your ignorance astounds me.

By the way, I love the Confederate flag, and I'm not a white supremacist.

Ignorance is not knowing anything about Trump. If he did not say and do this stuff I would not see any of it in the media and House of Representatives or hear it from his own stupid mouth. None of it would be on his Twitter account. I watched all three debates with Hillary Clinton in their entirety. I watched both the House Intelligence Committee and Judiciary Committee impeachment hearings. You can't tell me anything that was said, written, and tweeted by and about Trump never happened. As for the Confederate flag, it is obvious I am talking about Trump being a racist if you know what it represents. Context is what matters if Trump is talking about it because of his previous comments and actions against African-Americans.
