Kinda have to laugh about her surname being "Abdullah" while she practices witchcraft and polytheism. Reminds me of how a little while ago someone was found practicing witchcraft inside of the Masjid el Haram mosque in Mecca. But yeah, not surprising.

I would not be surprised that tendencies like this would degenerate to human sacrifice.

Of course the statement above presupposes “Becoming Human” with worshipping God.

To practice witchcraft would be to act inhumanly (not to be confused with sub-human).

Right now my family is doing a reading (in Russian aloud while I follow along in the original English) of CS Lewis's "Space Trilogy". It's almost spooky about how the last book describes what is going on today, from engineered riots, to the leaders (representing the modern intellectuals and "educated" (as they imagine it) set falling to devil worship and human sacrifice. That's the relevance to this forum, I think. Can we, while even being "card-carrying" members of the Orthodox Church, fall to such things? You bet your booties we can.

I completely disagree. The question of relevance you raised I have answered, and there IS a real danger of Orthodox Christians connecting themselves to such things. It's not a matter of one's good intentions, but of who one associates with by carrying their flag and using their slogans. Since the danger exists, this is not irrelevant to TAW.

There’s a big difference between the CDC and a random organization that tells you to follow CDC social distance guidelines

Personally I would like to see people working, living, & prospering in, overall, safe & ordered communities. Most of what I have observed & researched in my life is of planned, older cities in progressive deterioration.

Almost every time there are upheavals, cities never recover and the conditions that perpetuate unemployment, crime, poverty etc. become systemic. The social fabric is shot & eventually law enforcement deteriorates too. Cities like Baltimore, Detroit, Trenton, NJ, Camden, NJ, Chester, PA, Harrisburg, PA, Wilmington, DE, Washington DC, Easton, PA, large sections of Philadelphia, New York City, Boston, Syracuse, NY, Providence RI, Hartford, CT, Pittsburgh, York, Pa, New Haven, CT, Binghamton, NY, Wilkes-Barre, PA etc. etc. With the exception of Detroit, I have mentioned places I have personally seen decayed or sinking into decay within my limited regional home area of the Middle Atlantic States & southern New England. I know, nationally, it’s even worse of course.

For 50 years this process has been going on the limited vicinity I have seen. Who wants to see anyone living in such horrible conditions? At least when I was younger the suggested remedies were based on building community & creating jobs.

Whatever happens though I guess we just have to try live out our faith. The radical secularists ( not most secularists) will say our charity & prayers are whatever derisive expletives they seem to like using. “Change not charity” like those wretched experiments of Mao, Stalin, Mengistu (in 1980s Ethiopia), Pol Pot in Cambodia, Venezuela, the destruction of Tibet, etc. etc. are recycled toxins touted as “solutions”.

We all would like to see that. (I can’t imagine a member here who wouldn’t.)

The cause of the evils you describe is the slow (I’m talking on a scale of up to 150 years) turn away from God and traditional (even Protestant) faith, aided greatly by centrally-controlled public education and centrally-controlled mass media (made possible by the invention of the phonograph and radio and subsequent communication devices). The engines of central control are not amenable to democracy; because the control is central and the communication largely one-way (modern social media being a curious partial exception, though still subject to central control) they favor the promotion of the views of the few who come to control them over the views of the mass of ordinary people, and therefore, the inevitable change of any traditional culture to the vision (inevitably misguided) of the controllers.
