Seriously... Is there anybody at all to date in the Orthodox Church?

Not necessarily the mentality, but culturally. And I know you've not said it, but I mentioned it in the OP.

culturally speaking then, I dare say you still probably aren't alone in your outlook.

Pretty much it's move to an Orthodox country

or

Find a nice loving Catholic, Protestant / Evangelical or Oriental Orthodox woman and then bring them to Church with you.

At the very least make sure that they are already a Trinitarian Christian.

I've been in the church for a few years. I'm financially stable, educated, and active in the Church. I would like to be married, but there are no unmarried Orthodox women near my age around. Two dozen young converts here, but not a single female among them.

I've tried orthodox dating sites and usually after the second or third message, she'll become unresponsive for no discernable reason... you'd think someone would have the courtesy to say, "actually, no, I don't care to talk to you anymore."

And the one time someone really talked with me, after a few months I ended up driving out a few states away to see her - but she stood me up. I spent the day in that nice little town going to various thrift stores, because I might as well use my vacation time the best I could since I was already there.

So, I feel like I've done right by at least attempting to find orthodox women.

I don't really have a social circle outside the Church, but maybe it's time. But then again, it's like, 'don't get yoked to those who don't believe the same.' So, should I? (yeah, yeah, ask my priest.)

I have a much similar experience and still single myself. I haven't had much luck with dating sites either- they either turn out to be introverted to an unhealthy degree or certifiably crazy. I had one woman at church tell me to pray the prayer to St. Nicholas for a wife for 40 days.... I haven't gotten around to it yet. I guess I'm a bit skeptical as well.

If your determination is super-strong, and you are ready to do anything, there are thousands of Russian women in churches looking for men. A couple of members here went that route, though they wound up living in Russia. Living in a foreign land for the rest of your life is a hard row to hoe, and not everyone can hack it. But if your eye is fixed firmly on eternity, it’s doable...

Rus, call me old-fashioned, but I believe in marrying an American woman because I'm an American man. And there are persons I won't abandon here and who wouldn't go with me. Otherwise, it is a good idea.

Also, it's doubtful I could successfully learn Russian enough to manage that - I'm very bad with learning foreign languages. I've been trying to learn Russian for a long time.

Go to a monastery's feast day celebration when there will be lots of pilgrims.

They aren't doing pilgrims anymore, not for the forseeable future. Got to wait for the mystical potion to be cooked up by alchemists to miraculously eradicate a certain disease - which the gods of scientific consensus gave a 4-7 years timeframe for development until said disease appeared.

I've already exceeded the 40 days several times over.

But, lol, when they put a specific timeframe on it, it turns almost into a magic spell...

I’m a 45 year old with the mentality of a 77 year old. ^_^^_^

I never said you needed to find someone your age. and, if you are 26 with the mentality of a 36 year old, you're probably not the only one.

I’m 32 and I feel like I’m a 75 year old too. It’s nice though because I’m in bed by 10pm and don’t go out to loud bars.:ahah:

I have always said I’m an old soul. I love 1970’s music 60’s-70’s cars, and I’m a lot like my parents generation. I no longer like hardly anything about society. I should’ve been born around 1945, so yeah, I’m in a 70’s age mindset, actually.

Naturally, we all know what it’s like to feel like to be 75. Been there, done that, right?

Not that there is not legit Christian Russian women in Russia, but I did not consider any women from that country because of the difficulty of that government, and for the fact that there are a lot of obvious scammer type profiles I noticed from that country on dating sites I was looking at in the past. From reading up on the difficulties of dating Russian women: Russian women can also be very demanding and a little cold emotionally before you get to know them (after a long time). But dating scams from Russia are very real.

This book is based on a true story:

https://www.amazon.com/Warning-Russian-Dating-Behind-Deception/dp/1452066868

So if I was in your shoes, I would date Christian women in more trusted countries that are not known for dating scams. Avoid the Philippines, Africa, Russia, and UK.

Brazilians appear to be more open emotionally. They will kiss you in public (if you are comfortable with that). Brazilians are more family oriented, and they are very friendly and affectionate. But again, pray about it. Wait upon the Lord. It took two decades of prayer before God answered for me in finding my soulmate. Do not rush (Russian) into anything.
