or did I misunderstand them?

That "God had a beginning" idea is not one of our 28 Fundamental beliefs and never has been. The first one we published was in 1872... did not have anything there about the Son of God having a beginning either.

True... second person of the Godhead - infinite from all eternity

In Hebrews 7 Melchizedek is "like" the Son (though in the case of the former - a mere human) in the respect that Moses did not record a beginning or an end for him -- in real life of course God the Son is the only one of the two of them that really has no beginning and no end.

Thanks Bob, I am tired from the virus and caregiving of five other seniors.

God bless you Daniel - are you saying you have the virus and are in one of the at-risk groups?

I will be praying for you my friend.

Have you seen the MedCram website? MedCram - Medical Lectures Explained Clearly Its a doctor at a teaching hospital explaining details for medical students - that the rest of us also find interesting. Topics well researched "made simple".

??? what ?

Did you fully recover the first time?? did they give you Dexamethasone?

Have you seen this? (Another Adventist you might enjoy watching :) )
medcram dexamethasone - Bing video

I never was given Dexamethasone, my cases were mild compared to others. Each time they had me isolate from family at home. To control temperature, I used ice baths or cold shower, Tylenol and steroid injection related to arthritis in one of joints. I have a CPAP Machine and lots of rest. At this time, I have enough strength to do things around the home for a day, then rest three days. The first time was either late February or early March. We were fortunate to have masks because of my spring allergies -- I bought a box then. At this time the cost of masks are inflated a lot. For monitoring they had me go to a tent nearby every other day.

There is a whole branch (minority) of Christianity that believes this called Unitarians. Here is a definition:

Unitarianism is a Christian theological movement named for its belief that the God in Christianity is one person, as opposed to the Trinity which in most other branches of Christianity defines God as one being in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Jews, in general, believe only in one God. I think the Jehovah Witnesses believe this also.

I am pretty sure that all Christians are monotheist. "The LORD your God is ONE" Deut 6:4

However that results in the Matthew 28:19 case of one God in three persons, though as you say there are some groups that might differ on that point.

Where more differences show up is "Being" vs "person". Some argue as if one person is not one Being but rather 1/3 of a being. And so when you ask "who is Christ praying to in John 17..? Himself?" they don't know the answer.

In the news today, there is a survey that says that 52 percent of Americans deny that Jesus is God, just a good teacher.

I would agree that all Christians and Jews would call themselves monotheist. They differ in terms of how many beings the Godhead consists of. I think the JW's are the largest organization that believes that Christ had a beginning. I don't know much more about the doctrine than that. I've spent a few hours debating the issue with someone years ago and don't see Biblical support for it. It is an idea that all Christians should be aware of, so you are not caught off guard by someone who believes it.

I recent poll found that most Americans still believe in God, but also believe in reincarnation.

How many of you listened to Ravi Zacharias? He was unique in that he could have a conversation with other faiths and atheists and point them to Christianity.

I enjoyed him, too. His messages weren't doctrinal in nature, so he has a message that transcended not only Christian faiths, but also religions.

I was listening to a SDA preacher on the radio this morning giving a series on Revelation and Bible prophesy. If you aren't already a Christian or Jew, that message is not going to have an appeal. With secularism and religious confusion reigning supreme today, we need more preachers like Ravi Zacharias.
