Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Champion Of Gender Equality, Dies At 87

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the demure firebrand who in her 80s became a legal, cultural, and feminist icon has died. The Supreme Court announced her death, saying the cause was complications from cancer.

Staff… If you would please, remove political posts. I believe this woman's accomplishments and life should be celebrated. That is what I intended by creating this thread. Thank you.

Yet, instead of just titling the thread - "Ruth Bader Ginsburg dies at age 87", and leaving it at that, you add a political component to the title.

She was a supreme court justice... she is remembered for a great many of things. I just don't want this to devolve into political debate, and arguing.

What accomplishments are those? I know she has been heralded as a champion of women's rights. But it seems like most of the important stuff for that case was done before her. On the other hand, she has been left leaning bulwark on issues like abortion, so I'm not really sure what conservatives should celebrate about her life other than this is a good manners thing to do as part of our past culture.

I don't know specifically she did in regards to SCOTUS rulings....but she spent a considerable amount of her life dedicated to public service in the highest judicial seat we have.

I think that alone is worthy of recognition and celebration.
