Since Donald Trump took office as president, the image of the United States has suffered across many regions of the globe. As a new 13-nation Pew Research Center survey illustrates, America’s reputation has declined further over the past year among many key allies and partners. In several countries, the share of the public with a favorable view of the U.S. is as low as it has been at any point since the Center began polling on this topic nearly two decades ago.

According to the graph provided by Pew, the image of the USA has been on a downward path since at least 2000 AD. That's 20 years, more than 16 of which are not Trump's doing. Of course, he is the only president during this period of time who would be blamed, right?

Obama, for example, was an embarrassment when he went from country to country, on his own initiative, to tell the Brits or Israelis or someone else how they ought to vote in upcoming elections! And, guess what, the people voted the exact opposite way as a result. Now, THAT's what I'd call a loss of image.

The PEW surveys are respectable. Trump has the lowest global approval rating of any of six great rulers including the rulers of England, Germany, France, China and Russia.

Almost certainly because he's cut back on the gravy train that all those nations have been riding and which they have come to expect "Uncle Sap" to continue indefinitely.

It's not, but then again, it does seem that Trump Trump Trump is the only thing that the other side can think of when it comes to this subject. In fact, it seems that it is the explanation they give for anything in the world that goes wrong.

Or maybe because he betrayed our Kurdish allies to curry favor with a dictator, suggested pulling out of NATO, and wanted to pull U.S. troops out of S. Korea.

All of which makes the world more dangerous.

Our enemies are laughing at us, and our allies no longer trust us.
