When we hit 200,000 deaths in a few days, any election impact?

I have been wondering now for a few weeks if the big 200,000 virus death figure might shock a few folks and cause the President to lose a point or two in the polls? A staunch Dem friend of mine does not think that it will cost him much from his base. He is probably right, but it could make a difference with those who have yet to decide? What think all of you?

I don't think most people are ignorant enough to vote for a dementia patient for Prez because a 'pandemic' under the supervision of state and local governments resulted in deaths.

I think the only people blaming the Prez are those who either are living in a hole with their eyes closed or were never voting for him anyway and are just using a convenient excuse.

It's really where one gets their news from and what they believe to be true or not ... about many things.

Your right most people won't be voting for the guy who talked about capturing airports in the American Revolution. How goes the Herd mentality, cured it yet?

Both candidates are dementia patients.

No, especially when they say if the flights from China were no stopped it would be much higher.

Not at all. If 100,000 deaths (plus the 4 years that preceded this pandemic) haven’t swayed them I don’t see what difference 100,000 more deaths will do. The numbers could get up to over 1 million deaths and tens of millions of cases. His biggest fans have shown there is no level of failure or incompetence too great for them to even consider leaving their candidate.

Look at how they arrived at this total ridiculous number, it is very inconsistent and they keep changing the criteria.
How COVID-19 Deaths Are Counted

For COVID-19, the immediate cause of death might be listed as respiratory distress, with the second line reading “due to COVID-19.” Contributing factors such as heart disease, diabetes or high blood pressure would then be listed further down. This has led to some confusion by people arguing that the “real” cause of death was heart disease or diabetes, Aiken said, but that’s not the case.

“Without the COVID19 being the last straw or the thing that led to the chain of events that led to death, they probably wouldn’t have died,” she said.

How foolish. This means that if they drank water and died is like saying "drinking water being the last straw or the thing that led to the chain of events"....do you see how foolish that is?

Just some examples:
https://www.doh.wa.gov/Portals/1/Do...rtDeathsReCOVID.pdf?ver=2020-06-17-151822-090

Also, the PCR test is highly inaccurate....look at the people who get a negative result one day and positive the next day and back to negative result...none of this is reported in the "news".

Look at what happened when Tanzania president decided to "test" the tests:

Goats, papaya, used motor oil all tested positive for coronavirus.

Do undecided voters actually exist?

Your attempt to downplay the importance and contribution of the British Air Force during those times is noted.

No, especially when they say if the flights from China were no stopped it would be much higher.

were they?

Many, many came in from China after the partial ban. Do you even remmeber when the Americans were brought home, many with the virus. The government had folks come from across the country to meet and greet them. None had training; none used protection of any kind. That night, they spread the virus to local hotels. And then, after a day, these government employees got on planes and spread the virus from coast to coast.

Besides, the spread in the US was primarily from Europe, not China.
=================================
Finally, the majority of deaths were because of the federal government inaction on testing, national protocols before the March declaration of emergency. Compare the deaths in US with those in South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. All these countries had much more travel from China than the US.

We all had the information in the first week in February. In fact, we had our first cases on virtually the same day as South Korea. Those countries measure their death toll in hundreds. We measure ours in hundreds of thousands, and still think that we are going great.

Just imagine the death toll if we had similar policies from February onward in the countries mentioned. Of course, there are many, many differences, with one bottom line: the difference in national leadership.

Why should it? Obama in his first term was very definite that if unemployment did not bounce back to a certain level that was generally needed to be reelected in American Politics that he "Did not deserve to be re-elected" and well that level wasn't reached when he started his re-election campaign but he changed his position on that bench mark. I don't see that this is any different.

The riots have succeeded at making many people think of the importance of law and order, and even that issue is fading in favor of jobs and the economy.

No. I just went into Walmart for the first time, today, with no mask and was not harassed. All the door barriers are gone. The little arrows on the floor, gone. The 'mask police' person wasn't even sitting at her table to yell at people that didn't have one on. The narrative is pretty much dead at this point.

What state was that?
