• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

kinda overwhelmed with trying to decide what the best food is to eat. there are so many choices out there.

It is not that hard. Eat lots of vegetables, bit of meat, fish and or beans , drink enough water, avoid sugar and processed food stuffs while not over eating.

I recommend a hot fudge sundae. IMO the best food to eat.

If you are attempting to be healthy however eating one food or one type of food is a very bad idea. A varied diet including enough protein, fat, carbohydrates to allow you to get the proper nutrition including the vital minerals and vitamins most likely to deliver the correct amount of nutrients. Make sure that you don't consume more calories than you need and eat a varied diet and get enough sleep and exercise and you will be as healthy as possible.

I tried the carnivore diet but that didnt work for me in terms of constipation, i tried vegetarianism but lost too much weight.
my blood tests showed some issues that I thought the carnivore diet might solve.
theres keto. but too much to remember.
thanks for the thoughts. I am tired of being tired.

StillGods,

I recommend reading The 4-Season Solution. He explores our natural body rhythm and how our diet and activity alters in different seasons. The book addresses popular diets and when they're appropriate. But it advocates a seasonal approach to eating which honors the palate and activity levels.

I'm revamping my eating along these lines and notice cravings as the calendar moves. Right now I'd love to have a bowl of soup or comfort food. That's appropriate for this time of the year. I prefer to work with my body instead of taking a radical approach that's hard to maintain.

I opt for organic food, grass-fed meat, and sustainably harvested fish and seafood. We avoid refined sugars and flours, soda, processed and fried food. I make my own bread, jam and condiments to limit our exposure to preservatives.

Yours in His Service,

~Bella
