since everyone's home & on, constantly coming up "this page has to be reloaded"

impossible to even read a whole article since it goes out so many times & reloaded

sometimes it takes up to 20 min to do one CF post as everytime it goes out, my ipad freezes up, have to turn it off, and log back in

happening to anyone else?
any fixes?

my kid is doing online school & isn't having problems like me (only once)

Not today. There are several ways that situation can happen, including of course if CF has trouble on it's server (as has happened occasionally, but definitely not in this last hour it seems). Another common source for such a problem is internet trouble in general, such as when other websites (a variety) have the same trouble loading -- and if that's the case, then you know the trouble is either in your own house (like your own modem/router or wiring), or in your local area (such as a problem in an area for an Internet Service Provider).

If it turns out that other web pages also load that same slow way or hard to load and also other devices (other people in the house noticing the same trouble on their own devices), then a good first thing to try is to reboot your modem/router (unplug it then plug back). This won't help if the trouble is outside of your house, but often can help in a house. It's a good first thing to try in that situation.

Hello @christine40, what's different about your kid's connection? Is he/she hardwired in rather than using your router's WiFi like you are?

If not, and the same WiFi connection is being used, then it may have something to do with your iPad.

First off, have you downloaded the most recent updates from Apple?

If you have, then you may want to run it up to the Apple Store (or just call Apple) and ask them. I don't believe that replacing your internal WiFi adapter is possible on an iPad (or practical if it is). Instead, I believe Apple will simply have you trade your old iPad in for a brand new one at a greatly reduced price (this,in fact, is what we just did with my wife's old iPad).

p.s. - it might help you to download the "Speed Test" app from Ookla. That way you (and Apple if you end up taking it up there) can see how fast or slow your WiFi connection is. It's a free app, BTW :)

not sure how old it is but don't want to lose anything if I attempt upgrade ... wish I had upgraded before but looks like it's impossible to upgrade to lower version
Back it up first (if you don't have a Cloud to back it up to, I believe Apple offers a 50 GB Cloud for $.99 per month, just FYI). Or back it up to iTunes on a desktop or laptop.

My wife's iPad is a slightly older model, but her most recent update took her to iOS 12.4.8 (I'm not sure that her iPad, because it is an older model, will be able to go beyond iOS12). I would definitely do the update before talking to Apple as that may fix the problem that you are having (especially since you are still running iOS 10).

God bless you!

Try to use Ethernet and see if that fixes your problem. Ethernet is faster than WIFI
