Let God defend himself. Judges 6:31
He does and He will.

Then the sons of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD gave them into the hands of Midian seven years.

God even says to them in Judges 6:8-10: ‘It was I who brought you up from Egypt and brought you out from the house of slavery. 9‘I delivered you from the hands of the Egyptians and from the hands of all your oppressors, and dispossessed them before you and gave you their land, 10and I said to you, “I am the LORD your God; you shall not fear the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live. But you have not obeyed Me.”’”

There is nothing new under the sun.

You might want to ask him that. It's not that sex is inherently bad. It's that it gets warped into nothing but an act and not the loving expression of a dedicated couple, and that's what the word being discussed means, the act devoid of love.

Do you think the f word is a reference to things like erotica and inappropriate contentography and promiscuity or friends with benefits or it just means sex itself?

They're just words.
I agree but don't you think that they are vulgar because our society as a determined them to be? This may be changing but these words have a meaning that are meant to be vulgar in some sense and used to hurt others or at least offend them.

My personal opinion is that I don't like these words, see no use for them and don't want them to be said around my young child. I am well aware that is just my opinion and I have no real argument against others using them.

Well, I suppose there are two aspects to the question. One is that for me, I can't be bothered to be offended because they are just words. The other aspect is how I should respond to the fact that others will react if I use them. (Yes, I am agreeing that it is a cultural thing.) If I am around people that I know will clutch their pearls if I swear, I restrain myself.

But, aside from intent--where someone means to hurt you--they are just words and I think society would better off if it stopped reacting as if you pooped on their dining room table.

I am annoyed at the rampant profanity in our culture. People I would otherwise enjoy listening to grate on my moral sensibilities.

Some of them I listen to anyway.

I've always been a bit baffled by the offense taken in regards to vulgar language. Words and meanings are matters of convention. There is nothing inherently offensive, but offense is taken by the hearer. Oh well.

Out of respect for others, I generally refrain. But, personally, I enjoy a well placed curse word. It adds color to language if used effectively. On the other side, I find those whose every other word to be a curse word boring. It lacks imagination and strikes me as a sign of laziness. But no more than that. Whatever.

What I do find annoying are those who use so called by-words. If you're going to cuss, just do it. You're not fooling anyone or maintaining some linguistic purity by saying "shoot."

Tayla,

I'm not a fan of coarse talk. There are people I once enjoyed that I stopped listening to. I can only stomach so many f-bombs before I question why I'm entertaining them in the first place. My mind and ears aren't a wasteland. I limit my exposure to unwholesome things. I want my words to edify others and that requires discipline and intention.

Yours in His Service,

~Bella

I'm getting to where I can't stand hearing profanity. There are ways of expressing yourself with-out getting vulgar.

It is never necessary but the worst is when it is every other word
