I love horses too. I took riding lessons as a child and I would love to have my own horse someday.

I've got friends who have them. Personally I like all retrievers - they are so intelligent and have an adorable temperament.

I don't have one, but I did many years ago. It was called "Lucky" but you would never think so. It was the most dour and miserable creature I can remember. He was quite old and probably a bit world-weary. He just liked doing its own thing, didn't like interacting with us very much.

My cat....

1. Very affectionate
2. Not destructive around the house
3. Clean - You would not know I did not have a cat as she leaves no tracks
4,. Will only use the litter box when she can't get outside (I live in the country)
5. No need for a leash

There may be a lot more advantages of having a dog, but you have got to have time on your hands! My cat....

I once tried to give a homeless cat a new home. I even made sure the light was on for him when the door opened! Plus, it had a lovely turn table inside for him to sit on. It even had a nice, warm, atmosphere but, he refused to go in!

Also let me get something straight here of my thoughts and feelings for certain things about cats and dogs.

Cats

. Declawing is inhumane and please watch the video below to find out more information.

. Indoor cats have a longer lifespan and there's less of a chance of your cat running away and or door dashing. (With the exception of a leash and harness.)

Dogs

. Shock collars, choke collars, and prong collars are inhumane and please watching the videos posted below to find out why.

We have 3 cats, 2 of which adopted us.

We’d like to have a dog but we travel often and that’s harder on them than it is on cats.

That is my female cat Leah. It is important to know that I have owned her as a kitten. I developed a trust and a relationship with my cat early on. When outside she stays around the house. If a cat does not have a trust in humans I don't believe you can ever train them as a good pet. All the cats I have owned are tabby cats.

Btw, female orange cats aren't as rare as male Calicos or Torties.

I'm kind of a Love The One Your With type person. I've had great dogs and great cats. Wishy-Washy I know, but they both can be wonderful companions and capture your heart. When I grew up we had 18 cats! (Yes, that counted the kittens.) and one dog. The dog lived to be 21 years old and we put it to sleep. We actually ran over it when it was 19! I had a cat that loved the car and I would take it on road trips, at rest stops I would just let it out and when it was time to go I would just call it and it would hop back in the car. It's only problem was it attacked dogs. It was one tough cat! My current pet is the worlds best dog (every dog is) named Jessie. (Like April's cat.) It is a mix of undetermined origin, we consider it a Designer Dog. Shes a big soccer fan.
