I was doing a quiz for Orthodox 101 course which will start the next week, they send the quiz about our Orthodox knowledge before the course.
There was a one question, which I thought answered correctly:
"Which of these is not an Orthodox Christian?"
I chose Bob Marley, since rest of answers had Russian or Serbian lastnames.
But I was wrong, "Bob Marley was given a funeral by the Ethiopian Orthodox Church."

technically you did answer correctly. the Ethiopians are non-Chalcedonian, and therefore are not Orthodox.

but a definite step up from Rastafarianism.

The Ethiopian church confuses me. It seems that some things I read say that they are non-Chalcedonian, but other things say that - at least - they’re in fellowship with Antioch. I know one Antiochian parish that has a number of Ethiopian immigrant families who regularly commune. Although I guess that could simply be that they converted. Is their a large Chalcedonian population in Ethiopia that you know of?

How are non-Chalcedonians received into the Church? I’ve heard that they are neither baptized nor chrismated, but simply received through a profession of faith.

well, since we are theologically close, when they join the Church, they often keep a lot of their customs.

Can't always assume a Russian name means Orthodox. Especially if from the Communist era.

They may mean the Syriac Church. Their bishop also uses the title of Patriarch of Antioch (as do a bunch of others)

Yes. That's the one. And Severus of Antioch is a major saint for them.

Also, here is Belai the Cannibal;
