Guess they're fed up with being taxed to death and getting nothing out of it.

Can't say as I blame them; but I hope they don't bring their liberal voting tendencies with them wherever they re-locate to.

That’s exactly the problem. They run away from a bad situation that they created, and then they’re so stupid they try to recreate the same situation.

How did they create fires and earthquakes? And IIRC Californians tend to be environmentalists . Which I wholeheartedly support . Liberals tend to be better educated which isn’t a bad thing

Silicon Valley has high paying jobs. A house is worth 1.5 million in San Francisco. California has top rated universities. Merely cutting aid to orphans and widows is not a blessing in and of itself. Silicon Valley median household income is over $110,000. They have to pay more taxes. I would too if I earned that much. California has a diverse population with Asians earning more than other ethnic groups.

Where wages are lower, the cost of living is lower.

I would think it was because of the fires and earthquakes.

'Sure and people are leaving NY state by the thousands because of the snow. They suddenly noticed that California is prone to wild fires and earthquakes and it snows in NY State ?

It's pretty pathetic that that's what passes for quality commentary from an organization associated with Stanford.

Either way, "nothing" is an odd way to describe a state that has the 7th highest median income in the country , 15th-highest rate of college and advanced degree attainment, many of the top universities in the country (including, arguably, the best public university system), and urban areas with some of the highest rates of college graduates in the country.

Most of the states to which these businesses are fleeing could only dream of having some of California's problems.

Indeed there has been a bit of tech exodus from Silicon Valley to Finland, featured in the Finnish media and apparently spurred by the double-whammy of Trump and Covid-19. Finland is the happiest country in the world, the safest, cleanest, most stable and a technological front-runner. While Finnish taxation is less lax, one does get a whole lot more value and first-class services for one's taxes, a superior work-life balance, especially family life and work, and the best place to start and raise a family with the best daycare and school system for your kids. When it comes to 21st century global economic competence and knowledge economy, United States keeps falling behind for the lack of investment in skills, education, R & D, innovation and infrastructure -- and indeed, in people, a country's single most important resource.

Wildfires Will Become Worse Thanks To Decades-Old Liberal Policies, Says Fire Expert Who Predicted Uptick In Blazes | The Daily Caller
Democrats love taxes until they can't afford to pay any more, then like locusts they move on and devour your state. I lived in Oregon for over 40 years I've seen it 1st hand.

The only people who claim that taxes are the primary driver of this exodus are people with a political agenda. The primary driver is not taxes. It's real estate prices. My brothers-in-law in SF and NYC pay at least 8x what I do per sq ft of living space. Last I checked, Boston was somewhere around 4x me and my house is more expensive per sq ft than those in a lot of areas. I don't care how high your taxes are; that difference is never going to compete with the multiple thousands of dollars a month extra that housing costs in the centers of some of these cities.

Californians tend to be environmentalists yet California is the leader in air pollution among the states! Liberals may be better educated but in California they don't know how to run a state! Cities like LA and San Fransisco are rat infested, crime ridden with an ever growing disease spreading homeless population and those rolling blackouts? California has the highest income tax in the US! They have 1/3 of all the welfare recipients in the US and is going broke trying to pay for them!
I'll take the less educated fly over country any day!
