Anyone old enough to post in these forums has already experienced it multiple times in their lives, even though they may not understand or recognize what's going on. We all have been raised with a certain set of values. Every few years someone, usually within the entertainment industry, releases a movie, song, etc. that bends or completely breaks those values. The outrage is swift and intense to whatever it was that caused the offense but the main stream media insists that our values are old and obsolete; that we all need to liberate ourselves and accept this new edgy and progressive idea! Well, with that being said, I would like to present to you the next normal: Soft-core child inappropriate content and pedophilia!
Cuties (Mignonnes) (2020)
Or as the media describes it, a "sensitive coming-of-age story". Well, I guess you could describe it as such if your idea of a coming-of-age story consists of four scantily clad 11 year old girls twerking and simulating sex with themselves/each other in front of adults. I guess you could call it that if you think 11 year old girls exposing their bare breasts and watching/imitating soft-core inappropriate content is OK. I know IMDB had to post a parental warning that this movie contained scenes that were "legally defined as pedophilia", but that's ok because, you know, coming-of-age.
It's so sad that film critics have given this movie 88% on rotten tomatoes. The general public seem to be rejecting it, receiving a score of 3%, but I doubt Netflix will ever pull this movie. Those of us who know what's going on know how this will play out. Now that the initial culture shock is out of the way, we'll be seeing more and more of this type of garbage hitting the box office, which will get less and less outrage, and before we know it, we'll have "The Bachelorette: Pre-teen Edition" and dating sites for 12 and under.
