When did evil get downgraded to "mental illness?"Of course it is a mental disease, no one in their right frame of mind would commit such a perversion. But that does not excuse one from prosecution. In the case of pedophilia there are other innocent people involved that are harmed for the rest of their lives. This cannot go without some sort of prosecution.
You cannot truly be comparing being an adult subjected to taxation laws, with being a child who is sexually assaulted by an adult.i think in all ways we are victims, taxes for example
the pedophile in the church must be treated with love, he suffers inside because his impulses kill him inside.
He is a sick person.
A lot of prayers could resolve anything, and someday he will get up in the morning and will discover he is no pedophile anymore, the pain is gone.
But if the church never helped him, he will keep suffering and then a victim will appear.
into the church, we take willingly responsabilities to work in the vineyard of the lordOther people are never responsible for the thoughts, words, attitudes, choices, and actions we take. We are.
this thread is full of confusions, the punishment to sodom was in other time of god, not in the time of Jesus who proclaims the grace
I've always thought that those little ones are littles on the faith, my father is a pastor I don't remember well, but he told me thatMat 18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 18:5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
Mat 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
I, for one await the judgement of Christ. He has a special "treatment" for those who hurt children.
That's not what I said. You can "work in the vineyard of the Lord", but people are *always* responsible for their own choices.into the church, we take willingly responsabilities to work in the vineyard of the lord

Nothing is impossible with God. But science, medicine, history, and studies show that pedophilia tends to arise when people are very young adults; therefore it is deeply ingrained and incredibly difficult to treat. Oftentimes the best course of action is for these people to choose a life far away from any interaction with children.i believe it is curable

but the issue that the verses are altogether doesn't mean he is talking about childrenYour pastor is wrong. Here is the complete passage. Why are you taking to heart what a pastor says and not what the bible says??
Mat 18:2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
Mat 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 18:5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
Mat 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
that verse could be misunderstoodChrist has no sympathy for the pedophile....
And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. - Matthew 18:5-6
If you intend to destroy the innocency of a child prepare for a miserable eternity!that verse could be misunderstood

remember the vision of Peter when god told him kill and eat any animal
