(CLV) 2Ch 19:7
And now let the awe of Yahweh be upon you. Be on guard and act with care, for with Yahweh our Elohim there is no iniquity or partiality or bribe taking.

No partiality and no sin in YHWH.

(CLV) Ro 2:11
For there is no partiality with God,

No partiality!

(CLV) Ja 2:9
Yet if you are showing partiality, you are working sin, being exposed by the law as transgressors.

Partiality is sin. YHWH does not sin. "Being exposed by the law," ...interesting choice of words.

(CLV) Pr 11:1
Deceitful scales are an abhorrence to Yahweh, Yet an equitable standard weight is dear to Him.

(CLV) Pr 20:10
Standard weight differing with standard weight, ephah with ephah, An abhorrence to Yahweh are they both.

Do you suppose that YHWH will have differing weights and standards for the scales of justice, come judgement day? Remember, no one has been judged yet.

Let's try working through an example, something small; how about eating pork? How bad could a couple of strips of bacon be?

(CLV) Dt 14:3
You shall not eat anything abhorrent.

(CLV) Dt 14:8
and the swine, for it is bisecting the hoof and cleaving the cleft of the hoof, yet it is not stirring up the cud; it is unclean to you. From their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcass you shall not touch.

OK, so it was abhorrent; but that was in the old days; and after Yahshua ascended, refrigeration was invented; so maybe it's OK now. Maybe he changed his mind when he gave us refrigeration.

Numbers 23:19
Complete Jewish Bible

“God is not a human who lies
or a mortal who changes his mind.
When he says something, he will do it;
when he makes a promise, he will fulfill it.

OK well maybe there will be grace for eating abominable things in the kingdom to come.

(CLV) Isa 66:15
For behold, Yahweh, with fire shall He come, And His chariots like a sweeping whirlwind, To bring back His anger with fury, And His rebuke with blazes of fire.

(CLV) Isa 66:16
For with fire Yahweh shall come to judge, And with His sword upon all flesh; And Yahweh's slain will be multitudinous.

(CLV) Isa 66:17
Those who sanctify themselves And who cleansed themselves for the gardens, going after one in their midst, Eating the flesh of swine and the abominable thing and the rodent, They shall be swept up together, averring is Yahweh;

Did you remember? Judgement day hasn't come yet.

Will YHWH send someone, who is righteous enough to actually be in the Kingdom of Yahshua's reign, to the fire for eating bacon?

Will an impartial Elohim say to a servant of the time of Moses, who kept every part of the Torah, but who would sneak off from his associates, to indulge his bacon fetish; "I never knew you! Depart from Me, worker of lawlessness," on judgement day?

On the same day, with the judged servant standing right next to a bacon eating servant of today, will that same impartial Elohim say to this servant, "Oh times change. Those before you are condemned. They didn't have refrigeration. Those after you are burned alive; but you're covered by grace. Special! Step right up. NEXT!?"

Romans 14:19-23

"19 Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification. 20 Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a person to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble. 21 It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother or sister to fall.

22 So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who does not condemn himself by what he approves. 23 But whoever has doubts is condemned if they eat, because their eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin."

The person that ate bacon will be among the ones who committed murder, who committed rape, who lied, who committed adultery, who was a thief, who profaned the Sabbath, who coveted ... what will Elohim say to them on judgement day?

Hi Jayne,

I see that you're kind of new here. Welcome to CF! It doesn't look like you've done anything wrong; but since you're new; I'd just like to make sure that you're aware of the rules. this is a dedicated forum; and there are special rules here:

Statement of Purpose - Messianic Judaism Forum Statement of Purpose

You're welcome to participate; and I'm trying to make sure that you stay safe.

Now in response to your post:

If we back up to verse two we can see that this passage is about fasting.

2 One, indeed, is believing to eat all things, yet the infirm one is eating greens." 3 Let not him who is eating be scorning him who is not eating. Yet let not him who is not eating be judging him who is eating, for God took him to Himself."

Not eating, or abstaining from food is fasting. Some might do a vegetable fast. In those times there were people who were saying that one must fast on certain days of the week, some twice a week; but this isn't commanded in scripture.

Paul says that all food is clean. This is true; but YHWH didn't define swine as food.

Don't forget the sodomites. I don't know what he will say on that day; but I know what he has already said. He has called all to repentance.

Where does mercy fit into your judgment scenario?

Understanding that the gate is narrow, and knowing the consequences of willful disobedience, I'm thankful that YHWH, in his mercy, has given me the opportunity to repent. I don't believe that he shows partiality here.

I'm glad for the Biblical doctrine of repentance as a precursor to forgiveness. The idea that one can simply mentally assent to something called "faith", without an accounting for the wrong one has done, completely negates mercy from HaShem for that person.

So no one is forgiven for eating bacon?
I am just saying that eating bacon is not listed as a sin, but an abomination and there is no sacrifice for abominations. I think it is a totally different thing to commit an abomination vs sin. Sin has its outline of process to have sin forgiven and reconciliation with God. Abominations do not have a process of reconciliation, nor is there anything mentioned anywhere on how to rectify this problem. No mention of repentance, no mention of lifestyle changes, nothing. I have no suggestions, nor any idea as to how God judges regarding this matter as there is none stated in scripture for me to go on, not even an example. It is just not mentioned anywhere. It is not mentioned with the prodigal son who lived off of pig food for a while before coming to his senses. Who knows how low he went. Is it overlooked by God?
