I typically read about four chapters of the Bible daily and randomly go from one book to another during my devotional time. I am looking for a better way to read through the Bible or other tools I could use for my devotional time. Any suggestions about what you all use would be welcome.
Sometimes I also study a section of scripture which is different from simply reading it where I get out the commentaries and other tools and look in depth at a passage.

A very interesting study is searching out God's names, titles and attributes. Usually select sites that list the foundational Scripture so I can check them out.

Research who we are in Christ.

Here's a few more for your consideration.
1) watch "One Night with the King" and compare it to the book of Esther or watch "The Passion of Christ" and compare it to the gospels - realizing that theatrical liberalities were taken but you would know which parts were scriptural,
2) study the tabernacles and temples - comparing them. There's almost 50 chapters. Or study the feasts of The Lord.
3) compare the accounts In the gospels
4) look at a list of Biblical characters and see what the scriptures have to say about that person. Here’s one site that has some listed Bible Personality Profiles - Biblical Characters and Personalities - Christ-Centered Mall
5) Or study Jewish customs and perspectives to have a better understanding of many Scriptures.
6) Or read a Scripture from several versions such as Darby, AMPC, TPT. and consider.

You got so many good suggestions for devotionals but I will add one more that meant a lot to me. I did the Chronological Bible in one year. Seeing how things tied together really helped me to get a better understanding of the scriptures. For me personally they covered too much territory at one time so often I broke it down into bites I could hold onto. It took me way longer but I got more. I just can’t handle but so much at a time and really get a good comprehension. I also go back sometimes. Just let God lead you. He knows the way and knows your needs. God bless you as you study His word. It is definitely not something you will regret doing and the time spent is well worth it. Oswald Chambers also has some really deep and meaningful studies.
