Speaking With A Friend, Face to Face

The personal experience in devotion to the Lord is face to face.
Numbers 12. When there is a prophet I reveal Myself to in a vision; I speak to him in a dream. Not so with My servant Moses. He is faithful in all My house, I speak with him face to face, plainly and not in riddles.

Faithful to The House of God
Hebrews 3:5, 6. And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as an steward,
for a testimony of those things which would be spoken, but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope
firm to the end.

Come Before His Face,=Come Into His Presence
Hebrews 4. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain
mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory
of the Lord, are being transformed (metamorpho=transfigured) into the same image
from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

A Friend of God
Exodus 33:11. So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.

John 15. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.

Some were fortunate in the OT to speak with YHWH face to face and the disciples speaking to God the Son face to face. 1 Cor 13:12 is our promise to be with the Lord face to face in the future, its our hope. In the meanwhile its through prayer and the study of Gods word by which we communicate with the Lord, and He with us.

The meaning of “face to face” was in Num. 12: “plainly and not in riddles”. I think Jesus speaks also to us “face to face”, if we read the Bible and what he says in there.

A little more context might help.
Exodus 33:
8 So it was, whenever Moses went out to the tabernacle, that all the people rose, and each man stood at his tent door and watched Moses until he had gone into the tabernacle.
9 And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended
and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses.
10 All the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the tabernacle door, and all the people rose and worshiped, each man in his tent door.
11 So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to
the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.

@Minister Monardo --- There is a great lack of spiritual hearing in the church today.
Christians think they are limited to reading the Bible and praying at God. (yes, at God)
God is speaking, but they are not hearing. Mostly because they believe they can't.

John 10:27
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

Mark 4:9
Then Jesus said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”

Agreed. To be a good friend, we have to be a good listener.
How much more if our friend happens to be our King?

The power contained in any one verse of scripture is immeasurable! I have used this one many times
to help my fellow believers when they are troubled by "genetic predisposition to illness or infirmity."
If someone says, "my Mom died of breast cancer and I am worried..." This is the verse to overcome
that fear. You are no longer are of that perishable seed! You are reborn! Amen.

Amen the word of God/Christ is powerful, life changing and eternal. Jesus said My words are life and Isaiah: The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever. and the Psalmist: Your word, O LORD, is everlasting; it is firmly fixed in the heavens. Its alive, living, active , seed that is imperishable. Amen !

This is our covenant:
Isaiah 55:3. Incline your ear, and come to Me.
Hear, and your soul shall live;
And I will make an everlasting covenant with you—
The sure mercies of David.

Acts 13:34. And that He raised Him from the dead, no more to return to corruption,
He has spoken thus: I will give you the sure mercies of David.

John 5:25. Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead
will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.

I don't always like what I hear when the Lord speaks to me, but I have learned to cherish
His correction as much as His presence in my life. I am convinced that many never hear His
Voice because they do not want to hear and then be obligated to obey the specifics of
"every word that proceeds from the mouth of God", but prefer more general instructions.
Hebrews 12:25. See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape
who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from
Him who speaks from heaven.
