An opinion would be "I think X will win" not "X will win"
Weather forecasters explicitly or implicitly hedge their forecasts with a degree of uncertainty.
People can make sports predictions as "I think X will win". That's not claiming prophetic powers
But weathermen will many times say it like "it's going to be cloudy tomorrow" or "it will be sunny tomorrow". They don't always say "I think it will be cloudy tomorrow". Same with people who make sports predictions or anything else. They don't always phrase it "I think so and so will win." Sometimes they say "so and so will win." People do it all the time with all kinds of things, but they are not claiming to have prophetic powers.

No, he didn't didn't do anything until way past the time when he should have already been involved.

I would almost agree with you if New York took advantage of the resources they were given.

The major ones like the ship and on the ground hospitals were not used the way they were told they needed them. They pretty much remained empty - I think at one time maybe 20 people on the ship? The circumstance with the virus was far from over at that point. Heck, the state is still shut down. Sadly, people aren't returning and are moving out too. All the decisions that made that happen don't fall on the President. The local officials are also involved, and have the power to do things. If they what to claim they knew before he did - which at times they hint at - why didn't they? To much Monday Morning quarterbacking going on.

Almost every state in the union, and every country across the world were scrambling for supplies. We also find out that many states never kept their stockpiles up, and that might have helped in the short term. People and companies are scrambling the best they could to help first responders with what supplies they had as everyone across the globe fought tooth and nail for the remaining for their population. Yet, we need to pretend that context wasn't there to make it believable.

Everyone knew to keep isolated and to protect the vulnerable, and yet NY and other states decided to bring sick patients into nursing homes. Majority of the states never read advice, etc from the Federal government to do that....yet NY claims the opposite. I guess 'vulnerable' doesn't mean elderly. The governor will never own that, but anyone with a brain functioning knows how full of it that excuse was.

To say Trump wasn't involved is rather humorous. The medical teams were trying very hard to wrap their heads around what was happening, and finally someone leaked some of the virus's dynamics out to the world. Did people make mistakes? Yes, including the media. People were glued to their TV's watching the federal government and their local government's news conferences, and some the questioning, etc was so stupid. You of course had some intelligence questions, and then you had the game players whom felt that was the time for it.

I have NO doubt Cuomo felt he was doing what was best at the time, because we were facing the unknown. Yet, when the dust started to settle? Funny how the tune changed. People forget everyone was at home because the shut down, and scared. They had time to pay attention this time around. You tend to do that when you are scared. Laying the entire blame on Trump isn't going to fly with most people. They also looked to their local leaders, and they aren't getting flying colors for their response.
