• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

i'm glad you worked out what the cause of your depression was for now you can repent of it. i know how hard it can be to accept suffering while others are having such nice easy lives. Such can make us very angry and disappointed with God.

However i have learned to see that people who are given it easy don't grow in God's loving truth like we do. Easy lives don't need God and therefore miss out big time on God's love in their lives. In the end God will punish those who didn't love Him and neighbour.

It is very much like the Proverb says

Proverbs 23:18-19
"Do not let your heart envy sinners,
but always be zealous for the fear of the Lord.
There is surely a future hope for you,
and your hope will not be cut off."

Peace.

Thank you, Jeshu! I wish you peace too in the name of Jesus Christ! How are things in your life?

Thank you, Jeshu! I wish you peace too in the name of Jesus Christ! How are things in your life?

Thank you very much.

The last 5-6 weeks have been more good than bad, i've only had 4-5 days of depression, so i suppose i'm doing really good. i hope this run will last. It is nice to live without depression pestering all the time.

Our son and daughter in law broke up 10 weeks ago, but after much counselling and support they have agreed to try again. i'm very happy about that and pray that Jesus teach them how to grow in love together instead of losing love for each other along the way, as it has been. They have three children under 6 we wish them growing up in a stable and loving household not one with argumentative pressures hanging around 24/7.

Today is going to be 74 F, a beautiful Winter day, so i intend to enjoy that.

Glad to have you back with us Loyal.

God bless you abundantly serving Him.

Do you think people with severe depression worry more about their salvation than people who do not have mood disorders? Or, people who were abused when they were young see God as being very angry?

i think people who are down a lot hear a lot of lies about God, themselves and others and yes especially when we have been abused when young then God often times becomes a tyrant.

We can be healed though, i know Jesus healed me.

That angry god is a horrible god without justice or mercy he has tortured me for years, please do let him go and install our Heavenly Father back on His throne, the one who send Jesus to save you from your sins. That is true God, a God who pours out His anger upon Himself so He can spare His fallen Children that lot and restore relationship with them though they are sinful.

Please be of good courage and sow all of God's promises to us His children in your heart and ask Jesus to make them grow into reality. Faith in God's love needs to grow from scratch, and when God has been an angry god then that abomination needs to be dislodge first and True God crowned back to His glory again. Such are turbulent times.

There's nothing like nature, is there? My elderly mother and her man inherited a really old (and crappy, almost falling apart) cabin in the woods, and it's of no worth since nobody was willing to buy it, but they're still fixing it up against all odds. It's really not much, but they spend more and more time in there. A lot of animals there too, they just enjoy it all. They both grew up in the country too when they were kids, so I guess they always missed that life. I won't be surprised if they actually start to live there.

Anyway, all the best to you and everyone else in here. One day at a time.

That’s cool that they had the energy to fix up the little cabin even when they are old. I never have energy I can only barely do what needs to get done

yeah it’s hard. I push myself to work but everyday is a struggle. Busy season is ramping up for me and I’m doing this instead of putting in overtime. So far I’ve managed to always put in the minimum at my job but I want to do more. I started my job a couple of months before Covid started. I’ve been really stressed about current events this year

feeling down, had a car accident a few weeks back. my back is still sore from it. finished study a few weeks back aswell, and had a non cancerous cyst removed from my face same week as the accident (didnt know before that it was non cancerous so was quite stressful but at least its benign).

I have been struggling the last few days against depression but I've ended up quite down anyway. :(

so yeah feeling down, not much purpose or direction, lonely. I just am struggling to get out of this rut.

Please make sure your back isn't permanently damaged. That can easily happen in a car accident.

i hope this depressive spell will pass soon.:prayer:

my relationship with my local church gets better. Thank the Lord. I will go to churh tomorrow. And I have another church on line. Wish we can meet face to face. Nearly all Christian meetings were closed because of the corona virus.

Wish you all a blessed sunday.

i'm feeling confidant that i can survive now without having to take my full medications. i'm down to a 1.5 of 10 mg of my anti-psychotics and 1/2 Anti-depressant and doing reasonable well on that. i do still get depressed days but lately they have been far and few between. At times i cycle in a down mood but then a few hours later i pick back up again, i don't call that depressed days.

How are the others going? It can be hard suffering from depression when there is no one around who can sympathise with you. The love and care from others can mean the difference between life and death even. If it hadn't been for my wife Yvonne, loving me through years of depression, i would have never made it. Her love kept me going all these years. Rare really, most mentally ill people suffer on their own because either they couldn't find a partner or because their partner left them. i know i would not have survived on my own. i would have perished.

So dear friends if you suffer from depression try and make sure you have loving ones around you who can support you and lend you an ear when it has gotten too much. However it is Jesus who can support and help you the best of them all, please don't forget to go to Him in your suffering life.

Have a blessed week.

I slept better for the second time in a row but I think my extreme fatigue and sleepiness is coming back. I have that dazed feeling right now and somewhat of a headache. I don't know what's better. Insomnia or this kind of fatigue. I suppose with fatigue I could have a couple ounces of coffee, but insomnia, taking a sleeping aid could make me feel worse.

i think you better of getting strong enough to deal with the depression before you go searching for a partner. Mind you if you did find mister right guy it would help enormously fighting the depression for you would have someone apart of yourself to live for.

Getting the depression under control is hard enough as it is.

i hope you battle on sis.

well for one, the AD makes the idea of intimacy repulsive (ironically, I still have the desire for companionship). it also causes "dysfunction" - - not easy to have a partner if you're basically literally impotent from meds. not only that, I have no desire to go off meds for the sake of a pregnancy - - and I have no desire to use artificial birth control, which means for me, the only way is to be single and celibate while on meds. not sure what I'll do if I ever feel like I need a partner to deal with loneliness or depression though. :|

The best thing to do is join a good Christian Church where you can fellowship with other truth loving Christians. i know they are hard to find but they are around.

i like the one and all Church and often listen to sermons from Pastor Jeff Vines. Maybe a good place for you to visit, you you live nearby one of their campuses, or make online friends with.

That is so great Jeshu, that you have cut down on your meds and hopefully you can live a happy and normal life without them.

How are the others going? It can be hard suffering from depression when there is no one around who can sympathise with you. The love and care from others can mean the difference between life and death even. If it hadn't been for my wife Yvonne, loving me through years of depression, i would have never made it. Yes, your wife Yvonne has been your rock and she is a gift from God. I'm blessed because I have some great lady friends, especially my friend Jill, who has been there for me and given me a lot of support to survive my darkest hours. Is is very difficult to have a relationship when you suffer from mental illness as it takes an exceptional caring & loving person to understand your situation and I can be a very difficult person to live with as I get stressed out easy and can't cope with the demands of people. God has brought these people into our lives to help us survive.

Too often I have heard people condemn mentally ill people as if they were evil or totally selfish. Ultimately we do need to hang onto Christ through our struggles and as he is the one that gives us the love that we need to survive this dark world.

So dear friends if you suffer from depression try and make sure you have loving ones around you who can support you and lend you an ear when it has gotten too much. However it is Jesus who can support and help you the best of them all, please don't forget to go to Him in your suffering life.

Amen to that Jeshu! We all need love and support to get us through our most trying times and because we have suffered we can also provide support & care to those that are suffering.
