What Does the Bible Say About Ark Of The Testimony? The more familiar "Ark of the Covenant" is also referred to as:
The Ark Of The Testimony.
Exodus 25:22. I will meet with you there. I will speak with you from above the atonement cover—from between the two cheruvim that are on
the Ark of the Testimony—about all that I will command you, for Bnei-Yisrael.
The Ark contained the two tablets upon which were written
The Ten Commandments.
Exodus 31:18. And when He had made an end of speaking with him on
Mount Sinai, He gave Moses two tablets of the Testimony, tablets
of stone, written with the finger of God.
Exodus 32:
15. And Moses turned and went down from the mountain, and the two tablets of the Testimony were in his hand. The tablets were written on both sides; on the one side
and on the other they were written.
16 Now the tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God
engraved on the tablets.
Exodus 34:
27 Then Adonai said to Moses, Write these words, for based on these words I have
cut a covenant with you and with Israel.
28 So he stayed there with Adonai for 40 days and 40 nights, and he did not eat bread or drink water. He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant: these Ten Words.
29 Now it happened, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hand when he came down from the mountain, that Moses did not know
that the skin of his face was radiant, because God had spoken with him.
So what was the Testimony associated with the giving of the Ten Words
when God cut a covenant with Israel?
Deuteronomy 4:33. Has a people ever heard the voice of God speaking from the
midst of the fire, as you have heard—and lived?
Deuteronomy 5:21. Then you said, ‘Adonai our God has just shown us His glory and
His greatness, and we have heard His voice from the midst of the fire. This day we
have seen that God speaks with man, and yet he keeps on living.
Numbers 7:89. When Moses entered the Tent of Meeting to speak with Adonai,
he heard the voice speaking to him from above the atonement cover atop
the Ark of Testimony between the cheruvim. So he spoke with Him.
Jeremiah 7:
22 For on the day that I brought your fathers out of the land of Egypt I did not
speak to them nor did I command them concerning burnt offerings
and sacrifices,
23 but I explicitly commanded them: Obey My voice and I will be your God
to you and you will be My people. Walk in all the ways that I command you that it
may go well with you.
24 But they did not listen or pay attention. Instead they followed their own counsel,
in the stubbornness of their evil heart. They have gone backward and not forward.
The Ten Commandments were the Covenant. When the New Covenant replaced it, it replaced them too.
“And He (God) wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.” Exodus 34:28
“And He declared unto you His covenant, which He commanded you to perform, even the Ten Commandments.” Deuteronomy 4:13:
“When I was gone up into the mount to receive the tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant.” Deuteronomy 9:9:
“So I turned and came down from the mount . . . and the two tables of the covenant were in my two hands.” Deuteronomy 9:15:
“There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, when Jehovah made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt,” I Kings 8:9
“And there have I set a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of Jehovah, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.” I Kings 8:21
The second of these two texts is repeated in II Chronicles 6:11.
Consider “The ark of the covenant” that held the Ten Commandments (Numbers 10:33; Jeremiah 3:16, and other places)
Also; “It contained the golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered entirely with gold. In this ark were the golden urn containing the manna, Aaron’s rod that budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant.” (Hebrews 9:4) (NET)
“‘Behold, the days come,’ saith the LORD, ‘that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, which my covenant they broke, although I was a husband unto them,’ saith the LORD: ‘but this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; after those days,’ saith the LORD, ‘I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts, and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, “Know the LORD”: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them,’ saith the LORD: ‘for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.’” Jeremiah 31:31–34 (NCPB)

Not really Dave. Your only telling half the story...
EXODUS 24:7 [7], And he took the BOOK OF THE COVENANT, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD has said will we do, and be obedient.
DEUTERONOMY 29:21 And the LORD shall separate him to evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses OF THE COVENANT THAT ARE WRITTEN IN THIS BOOK of the law
2 KINGS 23:2 And the king went up into the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the people, both small and great: and he READ IN THEIR EARS ALL THE WORDS OF THE BOOK OF THE COVENANT which was found in the house of the LORD.
2 KINGS 23:21 And the king commanded all the people, saying, Keep the passover to the LORD your God, as it is written in the BOOK OF THIS COVENANT.
2 CHRONICLES 34:30
And the king went up into the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests, and the Levites, and all the people, great and small: and he read in their ears all the words of the BOOK OF THE COVENANT that was found in the house of the LORD.
2 CHRONICLES 34:31 And the king stood in his place, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his commandments, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to perform the words of the COVENANT WHICH ARE WRITTEN IN THIS BOOK.
It is both the 10 commandments written on stone with the finger of God and the book of the covenant written by Moses that made up the old covenant. Together they were both placed separately into the ark of the covenant. It is the shadow laws in the book of the covenant that are fulfilled in the new.
God's 10 commandment have the same role they always have in the new covenant and that is to give us the knowledge of what sin is when broken *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7 and to lead us to Christ that we might be forgiven through faith *GALATIANS 3:22-25 so we might be free to walk in God's Spirit *GALATIANS 5:16.
Hope this helps.

The Ark was the box specially made with room for the Ten Commandments (the Covenant).Deuteronomy 31:
24 So it was, when Moses had completed writing the words of this law in a book, when they were finished,
25 that Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying:
26 Take this Book of the Law, and put it beside the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God,
that it may be there as a witness against you;

So what is your point? Mine is the Ten Commandments were the Old Covenant replaced by the New Covenant.Yes, it is also referred to as the King's footstool. The footstool before the throne where the king
rested his feet is where he kept all treaties, alliances, and covenants made with other nations.
Yes, essentially an ornate box, but in the case of the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord, two golden
cherubim were standing above the cover. The Voice of the Lord was heard "from between the cherubim",
as He was seated upon His invisible throne.

They are two different covenants. Only one can save. Guess which one.The point of the Law being "written on your heart", is that while maintaining a
"conscience void of offense before God", we learn to give heed to His Voice, and obey.
Thus, fulfilling the Law, and walking in the Spirit. This is the New Covenant.
2 Corinthians 6:18. I will be a Father to you,
And you shall be My sons and daughters,
Says the LORD Almighty.
What has not changed from Old to New is this:
Listen and Obey.
As I say, the Old Covenant did not save one soul. It had a different purpose from the New.The point of the #1, and what I have already re-posted, is the significance of the Ark of the Covenant
also being referred to as the Ark of the Testimony. The question was posed, what was the Testimony?

Isaiah 55:3. Incline your ear, and come to Me.
Hear, and your soul shall live;
And I will make an everlasting covenant with you—
The sure mercies of David.
Acts 13:34 And that He raised Him from the dead, no more to return to corruption,
He has spoken thus: ‘I will give you the sure mercies of David.’
If the OP was about salvation, I would have posted in that subforum. The topic was the TestimonyAs I say, the Old Covenant did not save one soul. It had a different purpose from the New.
