The current society is in collapse. When they do the church will still be standing.

I am not interested in a church that is just standing - I believe we should be gaining territory - winning back the bound and the lame and the lost.

You have stated the prevailing view quite well, and in the mean time mental conditions are rising sharply.

No room for a fresh approach then?

Would this condition have stumped Jesus as well?

You mean Jesus rule against random curse words? I missed that one.
Or his rule gainst medical conditions? Or his rule against genetic abnormalities?
I think it was Moses that had a serious speech impediment.

All of the above...

Your intro does sound condemning.
How can we question any side affect that is not controllable? If you think it can be healed or a demon being driven out or some other method, why not do that? That would be great if it worked especially for them.

Mmmm... I certainly didn't mean it to be...

I don't think a chemical imbalance in the brain will be the cause of Blasphemy against God.

If that was the case God would be wrong to expect Praise and Worship and pure conversation from every believer.

I have seen deliverance from Grand Mal Seizures and Epilepsy and would not hesitate to pray for someone with Tourettes if it was God appointed. My hope is that the Church can take its rightful place and minister to those bound by various disorders because society sure does not have the answers and there is a brilliant chance to show God's glory.

What you have to remember, is that someone with Tourettes can just hear something like "I am dumb," and repeat a number of times. So if like a child heard a parent curse God, that could be stuck in their head and it is like an overwhelming urge to repeat it. I grew out of Tourettes. I didn't have it bad. But Id open my mouth wide all the time, then puff out my cheeks, and blink really hard, then do a throat hum. I really got annoyed I couldnt stop. I think mom had me start stretching my arms or something, but it just become part of the "routine." Yeh, it takes a great deal of effort and sometimes medicine to battle tourettes. I think God looks at the heart of the person. Depends on if they are just "words" they heard, or intentional "I hate God and I am repeating this" blasphemy.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or Behaviors (OCD/OCB): Repetitive, unwanted intrusive thoughts and/or repetitive behaviors. These thoughts lead to compulsions, which are unwanted behaviors that the individual feels he/she must perform repeatedly or in a certain way.

This is a disgnosis that couples with tourettes a lot. Mine stemmed from anxiety. I crack my knuckles now, but not really noticeable like as a child

People with Tourettes syndrome do not change. It's not a voluntary condition. No medical conditions are sins. No genetic abnormalities are moral choices. Sins of the flesh does not include leprosy. I thought Jesus explained all this already. Do we have to start from scratch again?

Mark 12:31
The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

James 2:8
If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well.

Romans 15:2
Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.

Matthew 7:12
“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Galatians 5:14
For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Proverbs 3:29
Do not plan evil against your neighbor, who dwells trustingly beside you.

Luke 10:27
And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”

Romans 13:10
Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Matthew 19:19 s
Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Luke 6:31
And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.

Leviticus 19:18
You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

Leviticus 19:16-18
You shall not go around as a slanderer among your people, and you shall not stand up against the life of your neighbor: I am the Lord. “You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason frankly with your neighbor, lest you incur sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

Galatians 6:10
So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Zechariah 8:16
These are the things that you shall do: Speak the truth to one another; render in your gates judgments that are true and make for peace;

Ephesians 4:25
Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.

John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

What on earth are you on about?

Jesus can touch any condition.

I never once said a medical condition was a sin but I said blasphemy against God was.

Role casting me into some hater is outrageous - Read my testimony here... Jesus's Ministry
- my life is dedicated to lovingly helping people and when God wills setting them free.

If you keep ignoring what I am really saying and claiming I'm saying what I am not, I will be sadly ignoring your posts - sorry.

I can't imagine God would ever judge a person that has no control over what they are doing. Through no fault of their own.

Well we have seen complete release from OCD, folk could not believe the change in our friend. Her countenance was instantaneously and permanently different.

And I do believe any sickness and mental disorder stems from sin. It is a consequence from the fall. God can heal in this life, but one day there will be no more sickness and pain. That is a fact for believers. :)

Okay, fair enough. But children are frequently born with Tourettes. Don't mistake me for an expert but I did grow up with a kid who had it. He had it even when we were little kids.

What "sin of the flesh" might a child have committed, do you suppose?
Not the child. The parent committed sin

The point I am trying to make is that instead of accepting blasphemy and normative which is what the medical world has done, The church has an opportunity to minister healing and freedom to those captive to it. I would hope we can take the opportunity seriously.

Yes, many testimonies like that. I used to have a lot of intrusive thoughts. I would feel really bad about it. It took a very long time to learn how to "take those thoughts captive."

I have no idea why they haven't thus far? Most maybe, don't know how.
