Ed Markey defeats primary challenger Rep. Joe Kennedy, in a major victory for the left
  • Sen. Ed Markey defeated Rep. Joe Kennedy III, his 39-year-old challenger, in a contentious and expensive Democratic primary.
  • The 74-year-old's win is a huge victory for the left wing of the Democratic party.
  • Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had endorsed Markey, a longtime advocate of pro-climate policies.
  • Kennedy is now the first member of his storied family political dynasty to lose an election in Massachusetts history.

They are both 'left' and Pelosi endorsed the loser. How exactly is this a 'major victory' for the left?
According to the American Conservative Union's rating of the voting records of members of Congress, Rep. Joe Kennedy scored a ZERO for last year and has a lifetime rating of 4.2 out of 100.

In other words, it doesn't look like a "major victory" for the left if Markey won and Kennedy lost.

If I were guessing? You have two parts to the Democrat party - or two main ones you heard about. You have the Left as in Pelosi or you have the progressive left as in AOC.

So, depending on what part of the left you are on? It could be a win or a lose. When you win against a Kennedy on their own turf? It could be seen as a major win for the progressive left.

That's my take.

My take...

Considering the source itself has been unabashedly on the left for several years now, I think it's just more propaganda on their part. An average person wouldn't bother reading the details of the article. They'd see the first part with the names, wonder who those nobodies are, then immediately not care and move on. The second part they see is a major victory for the left, which presumes a major defeat for the right. That's the impression given just by reading the headline, which is the most impressionable part of the story. Our 'wonderful' lying media, and those who propagate it, are still at it as usual.

Well being from MA, I'm glad Kennedy lost even though I'm not much of a fan of Markey either.

However, I'm disappointed Attorney Kevin O'Connor beat Shiva Ayyadurai.

O'Connor is just another lawyer, which we don't need.

Either way, there is no way he'll beat Ed Markey in MA, which is heavily Democrat

You got it!

That's why I don't pay attention to titles anymore and I read articles in full because the devil is often in the details. But, I would say that 90% of the public does not investigate matters like I do.
