I am reading Mathew 5:1-12
The Beatitudes, so beautiful.
Each one tells of how to be fortunate and happy, full of hope and joy, regardless of outward circumstances. It is getting closer to God by serving and obeying him.

And it is the Pilgrim's Progress.
Enter ye in at the straight gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leads to destruction and many there be which go in.
And then we have the wise man built his house upon the rock... I can't read this passage without singing the chorus

Today it is Mark 2:1-22

A great story about four friends who brought their friend on a stretcher to Jesus, lowered him through the roof to Jesus and the joy of seeing him healed.
There is so much packed into this passage, but what initially impressed me was the comradeship of the young men and loyalty to their friend.

John 11:25 - Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live

..no death for the ones who follow Jesus
