The Social Work Club at my college, of which I am the Secretary, is considering doing a bake sale to fundraise for Black Lives Matter. I have heard a lot about BLM, but I don't know how much I actually know. I'm trying to get educated on the organization with an open mind. I will always support the words, but I don't know much about the financial side of BLM; how would the money be used if we did donate?

We're in the Chicago area, if that helps narrow down the answer.

Thank you for your help, and no matter what you say, please say it respectfully! I have no doubts that the people in my club have the best intentions about this, but I just don't know if this is the best way to go about doing good. In any case, I have begun praying very ardently for BLM to be a very good organization, and for transformative forgiveness on all who distort the good message. Thanks!

My 1st question would be: what will BLM do with the money? I would personally prefer to donate to an organization where I know exactly where my money goes, how it will be used. I think that while BLM might have some very good uses for the money, there are other places in your local community that also desperately need the money for direct community uses. Soup kitchens, homeless shelters, organizations like this could use that cash and/or time you can offer in a direct way, to help people now.

The actual BLM organization has very specific political and economic goals. If you agree with their platform--go for it. They plans are more expansive than simply supporting anti racism.

Better to raise money for the St. Vincent De Paul ministries. There will be at least one in Chicago.

Wisdom and empathy help put back together a looted Minneapolis thrift store

This work is doing all of what BLM should be doing, and without the hatred and violence and divisiveness of BLM.

What are these other plans? I'm trying to get educated on the organization, so the more details you know, the better. Thanks!

No.

Have you not researched Blm at all? Just listen to what the founders and organizers are saying. Ethnos shall rise against Ethnos and they sure are trying to fulfill that passage.

It's cultural Marxism. Racialism, division, chaos, anarchy, "become ungovernable", inevitably leading to totalitarian Communism. They want to divide and tear down, not unite and build up.

The founders are admittedly marxist and aggressively lesbian. They have an anti-nuclear-family plank. BLM marches and members have repeatedly called for cop killing, and there has been no rebuke from the main organization.

You can see the fruits of their philosophy being played out on the streets of our cities. Take a break from corporate media for a few days and then prayerfully ask yourself afresh - is this a good thing? By their fruit you will know them.

Their funds are handled by the same people who handle those of the Democratic Party.

This is just off the top of my head. All of it and more is easily researchable, though perhaps not via the unconscionably biased google. Try duckduckgo.com.

What do you consider aggressive?
Promoting it. Running a plank against the nuclear family. Ignoring the devastating impact of the lack of involved fathers to Black children.

How does one promote lesbianism (or homosexuality)? People are born attracted to whom their attracted to. People don't turn gay. Do you mean promote it in the sense of tolerating it?

Theres gotta be some kind of foundation for public schools in alot of cities that dont offer the best education

It hurts me deeply to think about what kids go through coming from broken homes and seeing drug usage, prostitution and violence at a young age. Many of them grow up likely hearing hundreds of curse words a day. And i know at least in Hartford you cant go to a park or walk a few blocks without smelling weed. I pray for a Jesus revival in the black community and that love can become more prevelant
