There are some churches getting mroe and more on fire and some which get colder and colder. That is what has been goin on since the 1st century. Tulc, you almost made it sound like "well every other church has done it so I guess it's okay" No offense intended towards you, but that's the image I got from it. Telling truth.

When we all start to get back to how the original church was we will all be better off, and so will the kingdom of God. How many do you know of today that heal people with their shadows like Peter did in Acts? I don't know of any. But I do know that I would like to be such a person :D

My term for it has been Americanized Christianity or Capitalistic Christianity. And here's why... many people think that Christianity is something that you donate money to hoping to get a quick return on their investment, like the stock market today. Far too many only give because of the reward they are hoping for, not because they just love to give.
See: 1 Timothy 6:1-8

1 Tim_6:1 LET ALL who are under the yoke as bond servants esteem their own [personal] masters worthy of honor and fullest respect, so that the name of God and the teaching [about Him] may not be brought into disrepute and blasphemed.
1 Tim_6:2 Let those who have believing masters not be disrespectful or scornful [to them] on the grounds that they are brothers [in Christ]; rather, they should serve [them all the better] because those who benefit by their kindly service are believers and beloved. Teach and urge these duties.
1 Tim_6:3 But if anyone teaches otherwise and does not assent to the sound and wholesome messages of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) and the teaching which is in agreement with godliness (piety toward God),
1 Tim_6:4 He is puffed up with pride and stupefied with conceit, [although he is] woefully ignorant. He has a morbid fondness for controversy and disputes and strife about words, which result in (produce) envy and jealousy, quarrels and dissension, abuse and insults and slander, and base suspicions,
1 Tim_6:5 And protracted wrangling and wearing discussion and perpetual friction among men who are corrupted in mind and bereft of the truth, who imagine that godliness or righteousness is a source of profit [a moneymaking business, a means of livelihood]. From such withdraw.
1 Tim_6:6 [And it is, indeed, a source of immense profit, for] godliness accompanied with contentment (that contentment which is a sense of inward sufficiency) is great and abundant gain.
1 Tim_6:7 For we brought nothing into the world, and obviously we cannot take anything out of the world;
1 Tim_6:8 But if we have food and clothing, with these we shall be content (satisfied).

OH well... that's what I see anyways.... we need to all get back to a realization that it's all about Jesus. To let Him increase and ourselves decrease and then things should get a lot better :D Have a great day!

Though I don't totally agree with the Word of Faith moment, I think that y'all's passionate love for God is beautiful.

Thanks Joe,

How can one not have passion for God when we've seen Him act on our behalf at the cross.

It's passion for Him that turns His face and His hands toward those that are so passionate for Him.

That's what "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you," is all about.  In the midst of all that passion, his next response is "ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you." (John 15:7) NKJ

Not sure what that word means, but based upon the smiley, I'll take it as a compliment. ?

The heavenly thing that I was refering to was the time that I have spent before the throne, under the annointing, and in the presence of God. I have tasted so much of God that like a drug, lately I can't think of anything else.

I have heard Him wisper, "I love you" and now I am addicted to His wooing.

We as young people don't need alot of older people to help guide us.
Just a few that really love God and are on fire also.

And we definately don't need people who would put out our flames for the sake of their traditions.

church is supposed to be family so i think its important to have all ages there. The Bible tells us to respect older people and their wisdom.

I agree we dont need people who are just about tradtion but there are many older people who are open to the Holy spirit and have a lot more experience in their christian walk to guide us and keep are feet on the ground sometimes.

I think its important to be united as a church in race, gender and age.

I agree with you completely.

I am not a foolish young man who just throws away the value of people. Nor am I some rouge christian who is trying to change the world on his own, with out the imput of any who have gone before.

There is a differance between Godly wisdom and worldly wisdom. It seems that most of the older generations lack any real passion for God, don't like real worship, and would rather hold on to dead traditions that have no power in them. They have a form of Godliness, but denigh the power of God. I don't want to be grounded by people like this.

On the other hand there are also many who truely love God and have served Him well all of their lives. I am surrounded by many like this. The church that I attend, love, and draw instruction from, is filled mainly with such people, many of them could be my parents.

It is the pharisitical world of the lukewarm church that bothers me. I am not talking about men of God. But people who have lost their first love.
