If you didn't think he doesn't want an honest election, this should wake you up.

The Post Office is one of the glues that hold the country together.

Trump says he’s blocking Postal Service funding because Democrats want to expand mail-in voting during pandemic

“Now, they need that money in order to make the post office work, so it can take all of these millions and millions of ballots,” Trump said in an interview with Fox Business Network’s Maria Bartiromo. He added: “Now, if we don’t make a deal, that means they don’t get the money. That means they can’t have universal mail-in voting, they just can’t have it.”
I do not support mail-in do not trust it. Trump seemingly does not either. In many states you have plenty of time to vote ( days and in many of those states you need not give a reason for voting early. There is also voting absentee if for whatever reason you cannot vote in person NO need for mail-in. If you do not vote that is on you there is plenty of chance, and by the way I believe if you do not vote you should keep your mouth shut and not complain for the entire four years. Unless there was a reason you COULD not vote such as being underage at the time a legal resident who is not a citizen or even if you were incarcerated I am also a believer that people change, but if you simply CHOSE not to vote shut up for the next two to six years ( depending on what the office is). You had your chance.

As someone who has voted by mail for over a decade, in a state that is 100% vote by mail, there is nothing to fear.

Specifically explain to me the difference between absentee voting and mail-in voting.

If you want to vote by absentee ballot, you can do so without the Post Office. Apply for an absentee ballot and then hand deliver it to your polling site the day of, or to your board of elections. Many places offer a secure place or drop box for voters to fill out an absentee ballot and then hand it in themselves. It only takes a few moments so you are not standing in a line for hours and you are not in an area for a long period of time; you are able to do so safely. In some cases you won't be near another human! I do think absentee ballots by mail are needed for the sick and or disabled, homebound, or those Americans that are overseas. If you do vote by mail, do it early and if you are worried about it not being received, you can call your board of elections to see if they have gotten it.

With Absentee you must request a ballot. You then must sign you do not get a ballot just in the mail just because you can vote.

Many places offer a secure place or drop box for voters to fill out an absentee ballot and then hand it in themselves.

Some Republicans are working on limiting that as well.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Secretary of State Frank LaRose said Wednesday he is banning county boards of elections from offering more than one drop box for completed absentee ballots this November, saying it’s grown too late to make changes to how Ohio will administer this year’s presidential election.

1 per county is not very sufficient if they are going to get lots of extra use.

Or you can take it to a drop-box. There is essentially no difference between "mail-in" voting and absentee voting.

You still have to sign your ballot and it has to match the signature on record in order for it to be counted. How is fraud much more likely when you give people a ballot compared to them asking for a ballot when either way you still need to sign the ballot and have it match the signature on record?

So your concern is that it is too easy to get a blank ballot? Without a verifiable signature, a blank ballot is just a piece of paper.

Things like this give me a certain level of sympathy for Donald's supporters.

We've seen Donald attack and attempt to hurt businesses, cities, states, and now federal institutions such as the United States Postal Service because they stood between him and what he wanted.

As always, he wants praise. I can understand (thought not necessarily agree with) those who find surrender and submission to be the most prudent way to stay out of his gunsights.

Trump complains about voter fraud. Because he's a cheater. Now he's trying to stop Domocrats from voting. That is voter fraud. Right in front of the world. And people are trying to defend his criminal act. Sad!

There are polls for people that don't have an address or want to vote in person. But they are few and far between. There is not much of an issue with false votes since most people report excess ballots and they are matched up with the voter rolls.

No more than with in-person voting.

Well of course, he's made it clear he's trying to prevent American citizens from voting. My post was to offer info so citizens can know how they can still vote absentee safely; and if they are scared of the big bad Post office, they can look into dropping it off securely and safely or make a point of calling their election board repeatedly to make sure their ballot was received. I don't know what you mean by the first part of your post though, it will take time for citizens to drop off their ballots if more people are doing it? Probably, but it's probably safer than going and waiting in line to vote and then staying inside to vote while putting poll workers at risk (many whom are elderly). And it would take less time than that also; you are literally dropping an envelope off and then walking away.

Trump has used mail in voting himself. It's rank hypocrisy.
