I think you missed the several posts on this thread whit debunked the idea that the bathhouses would open during the pandemic. They are now legally permitted. They will be following all policies related to covid restrictions. The OP did not clarify this point. It has been clarified now however, in the preceding discussions.

My cousin has been going to salons in CA. So I have no idea what you're talking about.

I know a lot of conservative who have chosen to leave the state. That whole vote with your feet idea might resolve your problem.

Exactly....and, for a lot of them, they didn't even get the chance to hold appointments because they needed to scramble to get plexi separators in place....spending time & money without getting the opportunity to recoup it.

Unfortunately it's not that easy. My husband is in the agriculture business....and our area serves the world with what's grown and produced here. We just need new government. Our land (and weather) is precious here.

Not legally.
Oh....that's right. Outdoor hair cuts are legal....adjacent to the salons (taking away qualifications for unemployment that was available until end of July). But insurance and city ordinances or landlords often wouldn't allow that.

Yeah, let's get those sex venues OPEN as soon as it's "safe". That would be never, as if anything spreads disease, it is random sex.

Maybe, I'm not so sure. I live on a small nine acre ranch Near the Central Valley, and although the water problem is government induced, many other positive things in California come from a liberal government. Large populations have problems. California would be the Sixth larges economy in the world if it were its own country. But I don't see conservative states doing any better in areas of health or education than in liberal Cali. In fact, the more conservative a state is, the more impoverished the rural population is and the lower educational attainment is. There are no better states; there is simply political preference. If you are more conservative, you will likely not enjoy living among a majority of liberals. The very same happens if you are gay in Georgia.

I realize they're not opening now.....however the irony is that it was even considered and discussed at this time as some sort of economic recovery in the future.

I don't know. But I struggle to see how it is an example of irony and not simply a compromise between economic and scientific needs of diverse communities.
