We need some time for just the two of us. The problem is that I’m not ready to leave the baby overnight because I have had to leave him overnight for the first month he was alive, and I am breastfeeding. Having to schedule around feeding and pumping makes it hard to have a decent chunk of time.

Spoke with my beloved about the life expectancy of type 1 diabetics, of which I'm one. Women with this disease live, on average, to the age of 68. I'm more than halfway there already! But he reassured me that the best years are ahead. I may also do better than the older examples because I was diagnosed in the 1990s; people much older than me didn't have access to the kind of precise blood sugar technology that we type 1s have today. So hopefully I can have a few more years, God willing.

Right now, I'm wide awake while my wife and son are both sleeping...so I guess that's on my mind...and supposed to be 105F tomorrow. But today was a good one.

The baby is getting to the “I need to be into everything” stage now that he can army crawl.

Nice to have a parent who enjoys math. My wife is a science person. She's pretty good at math. I don't know how I passed my college courses in math.

Math is the only reason I dont have my degree.... so Im not a fan.

I want a nap but I’m restless.

I’ve been changing how I see my work lately through the eyes of Jesus. I read something about working as though you’re working for the Lord and not just humans so seek to display the fruits of the Holy Spirit and not work for vain glory. It has brought immense peace and joy to my workday!

What work do you do?

Pizza for breakfast in 2.5 hours.

I love my french press cold brew coffee and I hate coffee.

34oz cold brew bizzy coffee (17 hours of sitting in room temperature water)
5 tbl spoons sugar

Pour 8 oz of coffee into glass
Pour 8 oz whole milk into a glass

Taste so close to those starbucks cold mochas (the only coffee I do like)

I had to heat up the coffee after the cold brew process without the grounds in the cold brew before putting it in a pitcher in the fridge to lessen chances of bacteria (also seemed the best way to add sugar when hot)but cold brew is awesome.
