Hmmmm...
Do you believe the "hour" in the following verse is related to the hour we've been speaking of, or am I reading too much into it?:
Matthew
When they deliver you over, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour.
In Romans 13:11, Paul is speaking in exhortation to every believer to pursue salvation with urgency.
Philippians 2:12. Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only,
but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
The verse you quote from Matthew is situational; not to be concerned with how to answer any
accusation, ultimately from you know who, the accuser.
It is in regard to your sanctification.
1 Peter 3:15. But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always
be ready to
give a defense
to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;
FAITH+TRUST=FAITHFULNESS
They that are with Him called, and chosen, and
faithful.
Revelation 17:14.
The word hora [G5610] is used to express time concepts in a variety of ways,
as in many English expressions.
For example:
Galatians 2:5. to whom
we did not yield submission even for an hour, that the truth
of the gospel might continue with you.
We might say, "not even for a minute", (or moment)
"for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour" >"In that instant".
1 Corinthians 15:30. And why do we stand in jeopardy every hour? [
Continuously.] "Even time
we turn around, trouble is waiting",
2 Corinthians 7:8. For even if I made you sorry with my letter, I do not regret it;
though I did regret it. For I perceive that the same epistle made you sorry,
though only for an hour. [
A little while.]
John 2:4. Jesus said to her, Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me?
My hour has not yet come.
John 4:
21 Jesus said to her, Woman, believe Me,
the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. [
speaking prophetically]
22 You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.
23 But
the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. [
proclaiming the Kingdom]
24 God
is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
you get the picture...it is an interesting and informative word study.
