Should we be aware of the Day of the Lord? when to look for it? how it is going to go down?

Luke 21:34
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

From Yeshua's description, it sounds like it could be an ordinary day.

Do not just take one verse and try to understand an event, by that single verse

Your conclusion is correct, it will be an ordinary day.
Luke 17:
22 Then He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.
23 And they will say to you, ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’ Do not go after them or follow them.
24 For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day.
25 But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:
27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day
that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold,
they planted, they built;
29 but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven
and destroyed them all.
30 Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

This command should be sufficient for this concern.
Mark 13:33. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
Luke 21:36. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

The point really is our hearts and spirits being ready because that day does come as any other day. It's made clear throughout the Gospels. Have your slate clean with the Lord so to speak. Be in alignment with Him. We know it wasn't yesterday so that leaves today wide open.

I was reading recently about when God passed by Moses and He told Moses:
Exo 33:23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.
"Thou shalt see my back parts" is interpreted to mean seeing the aftermath of God having passed by. By the time you realize, if you do, that God has passed by, it's too late. So one can really be caught 'unawares'.

I think it's more about when it's not expected. Like a thief in the night.
No doubt many or even most will not be expecting, and unprepared.
1 Thessalonians 5:
1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you.
2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.
3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.
4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.
5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

Revelation 16:15. Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.

Yes we should always be aware that the Lord is returning and knowing that it could be today.

This teaching, and many others suggests "unprepared", right?
It's the story of the bride groom and the potential brides who had no oil. By the time they found the oil the groom was gone with those who had oil and the door was locked, done deal.. It's over sweetheart.

Mat 24:43-44 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. (44) Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Sounds to me like the 'goodman of the house" discovers the thief had been there, and was was already gone.
Makes me think about what I had read: "Thou shalt see my back parts" is interpreted to mean seeing the aftermath of God having passed by. By the time you realize, if you do, that God has passed by, it's too late. So one can really be caught 'unawares'.

Hmmm, not really the same. Moses knew God was there, he couldn't look on the face of God. He didn't miss God, still came home with a new continence, with instructions etc...

I thought it was an interesting teaching. You'll have to argue the fine points of it with the Jewish sages.

From my understanding will be like Noah's ark. Most people will be caught unawares. Getting married living their life. Then the floods came.
Right, Jesus said as much.
Luke 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

Just think about it. There are many scoffers today, even Christians, who see the signs, but say it is not going to happen. Many will be caught unaware.

41 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,

42 Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.

43 For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,

44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

Therefore, unlocking the understanding to the prophecies are important?
As you are responding to post #16:
"Handmaid for Jesus said:
Yes we should always be aware that the Lord is returning and knowing that it could be today."
Visionary's response, "All Prophecy must be fulfilled first."

You are obviously referring to understanding prophecy for the purpose of knowing the time of the Lord's returning. That is a very poor and impossible purpose for understanding prophecy. Jesus, himself tells us so and other writers of the NT have also told us for God, the same thing.

Jesus: "But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man." and "Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect." Matt 24:36-37, 42-44 ESV

"Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you. For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape." 1 Thes 5:1-3 ESV

Jesus: "Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come against you. Rev 3:3 ESV

Trying to determine when our Lord will come is frivolous and futile; a waste of valuable time.
