Question on Genesis 5:2

I'm a KJV reader, and something seems odd in this verse.
Here it is.

Genesis 5:2 (KJV)
Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

Genesis 5:2 (NIV)
He created them male and female and blessed them. And he named them 'Mankind' when they were created.

Anyone can explain why it says Adam and not Mankind?

Eh, no thanks. I ain't reading them modern bibles. I don't trust them.
I'd rather spend 20 minutes researching a verse, than not getting it at all or receiving the wrong message.

Matthew 9:13 KJV
for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Matthew 9:13 NIV
For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.

Matthew 18:11 KJV
For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

Matthew 18:11 NIV
"" (An important verse omitted... mmmmmm)

Luke 4:4 KJV
Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

Luke 4:4 NIV
Man does not live on bread alone.

John 6:47 KJV
He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

John 6:47 NIV
He who believes has everlasting life.

There are many more, but I will NOT use any of these Bibles. I'd rather spend 15 minutes researching a KJV verse, than receiving the wrong message or not even getting it at all.

I was reading the NIV in the beginning, but that's a no-go at this point.
And if I do end up reading it, I would read both NIV and KJV to make sure they match.

Luke 19:10 NIV: For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.



Matthew 4:4 NIV: Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Those statement are not "removed in the NIV."

What about Matthew 18:11. There are more out there, then you can quote them from the NIV. When I am at home, I will send them. If you prove those verses are there, I will use the NIV as well.

It seems that, in some Greek manuscripts, a scribe copied those words from Luke into Matthew.

Ah my bad, did not see that one.

Either way, I am staying with the KJV. I'm not finding it hard to read with and I am used to it.
Personally, I just don't trust the modern versions. I might actually read them both and compare them.
Don't know why people are so against KJV.
