Why is the KJV the official Bible of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints even though in many places the Joseph Smith Translation radically contradicts the KJV?

So many of their teachings contradict the Bible, that they would have changed a lot of it. But Joseph Smith was killed before he found time to rewrite evey so-called mistake. And their god apparently decided not to burden all the prophets since then. I doubt if it would have taken over 200 years to rewrite the rest of the Bible.
1 Nephi 13
28 Wherefore, thou seest that after the [Bible]book hath gone forth through the hands of the great and abominable church, that there are many plain and precious things taken away from the book, which is the book of the Lamb of God.
29 And after these plain and precious things were taken away it goeth forth unto all the nations of the Gentiles; and after it goeth forth unto all the nations of the Gentiles, yea, even across the many waters which thou hast seen with the Gentiles which have gone forth out of captivity, thou seest—because of the many plain and precious things which have been taken out of the book, which were plain unto the understanding of the children of men, according to the plainness which is in the Lamb of God—because of these things which are taken away out of the gospel of the Lamb, an exceedingly great many do stumble, yea, insomuch that Satan hath great power over them.

I wonder who's teachings contradict the Bible the most? I believe in the Jesus Christ of the Bible who stated that He is one with the Father in glory and perfection as we can be one with them.

From what I can tell, not even Mormons know what to do wth the JST. Does it represent the actual text of the Apostles or a commentary on the text? Who knows! It's probably for the best Mormons hide it or don't bring it up because in either case it is wholly inadequate next to the bible.

So how come not any of your other prophets after him have carried on this work? If the bible needs correction, why has God not said a thing for 150 years now about it?

If J.S. completed the Inspired Version, why did he not correct Eph. 2:8? That Inspired Version verse reads the same as in the KJV. It, therefore, contradicts the BoM:

23 For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.

The JST, according to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is a thoroughly inspired (by the Holy Spirit) corrected Bible (KJV) that represents in some places the further enlightened mind of Joseph Smith. For example, Mormon scholar Randy L. Bott, writing in the Book of Mormon Reference Companion (p. 470), quotes Elder Bruce R. McConkie saying, “The Joseph Smith Translation renders much of [the Sermon on the Mount] in a way that excels even the Book of Mormon.”
The reference edition of the King James Version published by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints includes “explanatory notes and cross references to the “standard works” of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These “standard works” are Holy Bible, the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, and the JST. In the back of this Bible, we find “excerpts from the JST that are too lengthy for inclusion in footnotes.”

Let us not confuse two distinctly different denominations, “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,” and “The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints” (Community of Christ).

It was already corrected in the Book of Mormon. However, there is NO contradiction there. The Bible condemns the slothful servants and all who do not serve God and DO His will.

Slothfulness is indicative of a lack of faith. Without genuine faith it is impossible to please Him.

Those are the only scriptures that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has.

Joseph Smith lacked the benefit of computer technology to help him be consistent in the things that he wrote. Therefore, he made the same sort of mistakes that other writers of his day made. He also lacked the benefit computerized Bible study programs to help him in cross-referencing and consequently experienced serious difficulty in putting together the teachings of the Apostle Paul. His serious mistake in understanding what Paul taught about justification by faith is one of many examples.
However, Joseph Smith was neither the first nor the last writer to get it horribly wrong. Paul wrote,
Τῇ γὰρ χάριτί ἐστε σεσῳσμένοι διὰ πίστεως· καὶ τοῦτο οὐκ ἐξ ὑμῶν, θεοῦ τὸ δῶρον·
οὐκ ἐξ ἔργων, ἵνα μή τις καυχήσηται.
Eph. 2:8. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God--
9. not the result of works, so that no one may boast. (NRSV)
Many careless readers have misunderstood Paul to be teaching here that no works of any kind are necessary for salvation. However, when we read these two verses in the context of his teaching as a whole, we learn that when Paul wrote of works, he was ALWAYS writing of “works of the Law” (ἔργων νόμου ), and circumcision in particular. (He used the word “circumcision”—in our English translations—30 times in 26 verses, and the word “circumcised” 11 times in 9 verses). Indeed, Paul (and only Paul) used the expression ἔργων νόμου eight times:

Romans 3:28
Galatians 2:16 (three times)
Galatians 3:2
Galatians 3:5
Galatians 3:10
Joseph Smith was, of course, unaware of this and assumed that the words “after all we can do” had been deleted from the Bible.

No, of course it is not! It is, however, as I wrote, one of their “standard works;” and I used, in my post, quotation marks to indicate that I was quoting from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, upon further reflection, I recall that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints stopped using that expression for non-canonical works sometime around 1900 and that I was quoting from some the churches earlier literature.
