• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

So I was watching this YouTube video of someone going to a CVS pharmacy drive through for a covid test and she said "Trust in the Lord" then I said "No" and "CVS", as in I made a "joke" that she trusts in CVS.

Obviously I did not mean that I don't trust in the Lord or that we shouldn't, I do and we should. And she probably trusts in the Lord as well.

Now I feel numb and distant from the Lord. Will I be forgiven?

Absolutely, you are forgiven the moment you ask. We all would be doomed if we had to work for our salvation and could never have a bad thought or say or do something hurtful. Fortunately, we have the gift of God, His son Jesus who takes all our sins and forgives us when we confess. I pray you can rest in that assurance, that you would have a revelation of God's love and be set free from any notion of self-righteousness.

Of course you will be forgiven, I have sometimes made a silly comment that straightaway I knew was stupid and said "Sorry Lord". I do try to keep a guard on my mouth.
The fact you feel like you do now shows that you realise it was flippant, so don't worry
.
There's no need to feel distant from God, that sort of feeling is more a tactic of the enemy who likes to tell us we're too bad.

God understands, we are told that the tongue is a hard thing to bridle.
So be sorry and go forward with our wonderful merciful Lord.
He will never leave or forsake you.

Yes a few times.

No you ask God for forgiveness for a particular event or for a period of sinning after that all you do is thank and praise God for his grace and mercy in forgiving you.
