Once a week as part of an inter-faith county prayer ministry my husband and I set apart a time to pray for Israel and the Peace of Jerusalem. This and various county and state prayer objectives are being done by various churches 24/7. Our church team prays every Monday when we all sign up for half hour or hour commitments. Been doing this for almost two years (when this ministry began in our county) and during this time the Lord has increased my own awareness of the significance of the chosen people in God's plan not only historically but in this present age. I will continue to pray as long as so directed and part of this awesome ministry. So far this has led me to make more inquiries from several, celebrate Passover, and even come to this section to learn more. :) :prayer:

That's a standard Jewish belief; he's not saying anything new.
How do we know that the money is distributed through the Interior Ministry into groups that oppose Messianics?
If they want "Christian money" that sounds like a stupid thing to do.

Now they got me thinking.

I can't figure out what that quote is really saying.

It's cool to support Eickstein isn't it?

I mean, I hate their commercials but I wouldn't know where else to support.

What do you think about them Chavak?

Who would be the best to support?

It’s “Normal” for Jews to Spit on Christians in Jerusalem, says Top Catholic

It is “normal” for Jews to spit on Christians in the streets of Jerusalem, a senior Catholic church leader in that city, Father Pierbattista Pizzaballa, custos (Latin for guardian ) of holy sites on behalf of the Vatican has said.

Quoted in an interview in the Haaretz newspaper after a new arson and vandalism attack on a Trappist Monastery in Latrun, upon which the words “Jesus was a monkey” was scrawled in Hebrew, Pizzaballa cautioned Israelis over how Christians are treated in Israel.

In a reference to the long-standing, continual incidents of Orthodox Jewish extremists in Jerusalem spitting at Christian clergy, Pizzaballa said: “When I came to the country, I was told that I should know that if I walk around with a frock in the city [of Jerusalem], people would spit on me, and I shouldn’t be offended, it’s normal.”

No matter how high his position, any priest who makes his way around the city will sooner or later be spat upon and cursed by a yeshiva student, he added.

Pizzaballa, who has been living in Israel for 22 years, is the head of the Franciscan order in the Middle East. As custos, he is one of the senior figures in the Catholic Church and has custody of most of the Christian holy sites in the country, including Jerusalem’s Church of the Holy Sepulcher, which Christians regard as the site of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection, and Bethelem’s Church of the Nativity.

After more than two decades here, he said he knows the areas of Jerusalem where he is at risk of being spat upon, including the area of Jaffa Gate and the Armenian Quarter.

This week’s vandalism at the Latrun monastery is the latest in a recent streak of attacks on Christian institutions.

In February, following incidents in Jerusalem, Pizzaballa wrote to President Shimon Peres that in recent years, he and his colleagues had learned to ignore provocations, but that now they were escalating to the point that they had become intolerable.

Following his letter to Peres, however, anti-Christian animosity even surfaced in the Knesset, after Christian bibles were sent to parliament members and National Union MK Michael Ben Ari ripped a copy of the New Testament in front of the camera.

“It was shocking,” said Pizzaballa. “If you as a Jew want people to respect you, you need to respect others. There are billions of Christians for whom this book is holy.”

He also took exception to what he said was the weak response by the political system and the public at large to Ben Ari’s act, saying it was limited to statements that Ben Ari didn’t need to do what he did. “It’s a lack of sensitivity,” said the cleric. “Such a serious thing occurs and no one does anything. In practice, it negates our existence here.”

That's one person's rather biased opinion piece. Noted, but discarded thereafter.

according to that fact sheet in post 48, Jews treat Christians like dirt. That is very anti Christ like behavior. A true Christian would never support them.

I don't think this is probably the best forum for you to post in. Your views are not exactly going to be warmly welcomed.

That would be reactionary behavior... which is unchristian.

It seems you don't much like Jews. Let me point out the obvious....your Messiah and savior was a Jew. And I doubt he would be very pleased with how you speak about his people.

he called Jews a nest of vipers, so he did not look to fondly at Jews. After all it was the Jews who plotted to have Jesus crucified.

[bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] The Jews crucified Jesus through the Romans. At the time of Jesus' crucifixion, the Romans had conquered all the area in which Jesus lived and taught. The Romans allowed the Jews to continue with their Sanhedrin (their government), but the Romans took away capital punishment from the Jews. In order to have Jesus crucified, the Jewish leaders had to manipulate Rome into doing it. First, the Jewish leaders had to lie - make up charges (Luke 23: 2, 3). The Jewish leaders persisted in their demands for crucifixion (vss. 5-19). New Testament writers charged the Jews with having crucified Jesus (Acts 2: 36, 3: 13-17).
No man is innocent of crucifying Christ.... quite playing the blame game.

Yep...

No man is innocent of crucifying Christ.... quite playing the blame game.

..and yep.

I think Mr Jenkins needs to find some better sources and read up. Coming here with half-baked anti-semite propaganda is not going to endear him to us nor bring light into his own life.

Hi all,
I see that this thread is related to how to help Israel. While I am not a professional on the topic, I do know that one way to help would be to support Judaism itself. I recently came across a website that deals particularly with the Chassidic movement of Judaism. It concerns itself a lot with the Baal Shem Tov.

For anyone who might be interested in the Baal Shem Tov and his teachings, you might want to check out some of the books that this site offers.

Thanks and enjoy!

How can YOU Support ISRAEL?

Give them the message of the glad tidings of the Kingdom of Elohim that Messiah Yeshua taught, taking into account all of the Scriptures, not just the last third. That will be of most help.

However, keep in mind that the evangelistic style in the U.S. won't generally work in Israel. People there are not fond of "beating around the bush" or baits-and-switches. They ask direct and honest questions and expect direct and honest answers. Their dung-smelling radar is finely-tuned and their knowledge of the Scriptures - especially among the Orthodox - tends to be better than that of most.

The Messianic Jews in Israel have lived in that culture and are the best suited to approach non-Messianic Jews in a manner that allows for greater understanding and conversation concerning Messiah Yeshua and the Scriptures in general. Support their efforts, first with prayer, then with encouragement, then with your resources.
